Stepping into history with a side of my go-to: avocado toast and a triple espresso over ice at Greenfield Coffee ☕️🥑 This gem is not only a cozy coffee shop but also a Salado historic site! Originally built in 1874 as The Davis House, this space has grown from a simple log structure to what you see today. Fun fact: one of the original mantels has a carved star that dates back to its beginnings! I love that they have a ramp, making this spot accessible to everyone. #TableForOne #SaladoTexas #HistoricSalado #AvocadoToast #EspressoFix #AccessibilityMatters #GreenfieldCoffee #Salado #texas #texaslife #texastodo #texaseats #exploretexas #texasvacation #visittexas #hiddengem #salado

Picturesque coffee house and bar spread across several well decorated rooms in a building just north of the creek in Salado. They have free parking along the street.

For starters, the place is adorable and has great energy. The girl at the counter recommended the chicken panini, and it was a bit pricey, but pretty decent... But I came here for was the coffee. As a coffee snob, I am constantly on the lookout for what could be good coffee and decided to come here based on the reviews as I'm passing through town. I was sorely disappointed. The late milk was very over-steamed. A late by standard is supposed to be pleasantly warm with a paint like texture. Instead, I got the opposite. Extremely hot (literally burned my tongue and can feel it peeling as I type) and the texture extremely thin. The milk molecules were stretched so thin, that it even soured the milk.

Takeaway- Love the building. I'm not saying don't come here, everything else is nice. But if you are a coffee aficionado,...

Been here for three total dates. Each time, I find something new to like about the location. Salado is old, rustic, historic. This place keeps that in ethos while still providing modernity. It’s an old farmhouse converted into a cafe.

Most recently, I walked in with my girlfriend only 30m before closing. There is a full bar inside and the bartender asked us if we wanted espresso martinis. SOLD! Conversation was good. Atmosphere was relaxing. I will openly say that it was the springboard for a great night.

It is a little expensive, which tracks for Salado. Come on a Friday for a big social scene. Family friendly otherwise. They have a board game closet, a comfy living room, lovely decor and great food. Of course, my favorite is an iced americano black. Their espresso delivers.

10/10 -...

What a cool place! Historic house turned into a coffee bar/gift shop. Great cold brew, a lot of other drink options (coffees, teas, smoothies). Tasty bacon/egg/cheese croissant. Multiple large and small seating areas, with alternative rock/pop piped in through the speakers, at just the right volume that you can listen or tune it out as needed. Appears to be a regular gathering place for local moms/ladies, but I wasn't the only road warrior with a laptop getting some work done in a quiet corner. The ladies running the place were friendly and helpful. ...
