Salado Creek Antiques — Local services in Salado

Went here with my wife and she tried on a ring. The old lady behind the counter was on the phone while trying to help my wife, instead of putting them on hold . My wife put the ring back and we shopped for a bit with our friends we were with. Our friends continued shopping and we went in the car to wait for them. Our friends came out and said the lady inside is asking where the ring is. We were confused because she put the ring back. We went back inside to confront her and she was insistent that my wife didn't put the ring back. We told her to check the cameras and we're highly upset that the old lady accused my wife of being a thief. We spend thousands of dollars around town in these antique stores so we would not steal in the first place, but especially not a cheap ring. In fact it was the cheapest thing in this store, everything is overpriced and most are knockoffs made out of pot metal that they are trying to pass off for an antique. STAY AWAY from this place, there are many other places to go to and the old lady is very rude. Donna is very nice and they deal in high end American oak antique furniture. I bought a piece from her today and they were great to deal with. It's not cheap, but they sell quality pieces and they are professionally restored. This is the best store in Texas that I know of if you want high end American oak antique furniture. This store is lovely to behold! Many people complain about the prices, but you can truly see the quality in each piece (some were professionally restored as well). Many of the display cabinets, curios, vitrines and eterges were incredibly rare and unique and all were PRISTINE condition! However, if you have the time and the knowledge/skill to do repairs yourself, and if you're used to estate sale pricing then it's understandable that you may balk at some of the prices (like I did, lol!)
