I went to Long John Silver to eat on Saturday night (Aug. 10, 2019) and the male cashier told us that the fish fryer had broken. Drove all the way from Boston and Lowell to get the fish. The next day Sunday I call to see if fish was being served and just so happen the manager Richard answered and said the machine was not broken. He was very upset the the workers were telling customers this, and he said that the employee would be spoken to about his ridiculous lie. I told the manager that I was in the area now and would come by because I wanted to get the fish. How about I order the fish, was not charged for it and the fish tasted absolutely horrible. I have to give the manager credit because he tried to make it right, however I do not know what they are doing to the fish now but it is not the same. It was flat, dark brown and tasted as if it had been sitting there all day. I am from the south and Long John Silver in the south still taste the same as the 1st day the place open for business. It seems to me that the Salem NH restaurant must be using old oil to fry the fish and the fish taste like old stale rubber. The so call hush puppies was hollow inside and with this type of below par food quality I can see this chain disappearing in the north. The employees are telling customers lies because they do not want to cook the fish, what a shame. This is senseless acts of horrible customer service and something really horrible is happening to the food there. I am going to contact corporate and let them know what is happening to their business, before it's too late and customers and sales disappear. Good luck Richard but you are going to need someone like me to help you get those lazy kids in high gear and boost the rating and quality of the food before you...
Read moreI SO badly wanted to be able to give a great review for this location. I had read all of the negative reviews, but my kids love Taco Bell and the Long John Sliver brought my husband and I here despite the poor reviews. (I enjoy proving poor reviewers wrong!) Our entrance to the restaurant started out great. The lady who took our order as well as the younger lady at the counter were so kind. Unfortunately, there was no ice in the ice machine, several soda options were way off in their syrup and carbonated water balance, several items were missing from our orders, and my sons tortilla chips were absolute crumbs. One of the ladies behind the counter was rather cold and abrupt to us about the missing items. (As if it were an anomaly and never happened and she doubted us??) We watched two other customers approach her about something missing or off in their orders as we sat to eat. She treated them in a similar way. A positive about the food: our fish meals were very hot and fresh. The hush puppies were so good! We would not go back to...
Read moreThis was the worst experience in fast food. Not just in the quality but the service from the management. On Thursday night the manager on duty was disrespectful and rude and refused correct the problem of my food being partially over cooked to the point of burnt. The other employees agreed it should thrown away and to issue a new order. But due to pure laziness this stocky heavy set Spanish female who refused to give her name approached me with attitude asking what was the problem after putting her hands in the food and proceeding to tell me only 1 thing would be replaced.! REALLY…Who does that? I love Long John’s and have spent a lot of money there. Usually I’m treating with respect and I must say the other employees were kind but this woman was awful and should not deal with the public. Someone said her name was (Sanchez) will be...
