I'm not someone who writes reviews often unless I feel very compelled to. I've heard of Manna for awhile now by word of mouth and decided today I'd stop in and check it out and I'd like to share my experience. I'd like to start off by saying if I could give them 6 stars I would. From the moment you walk in you're greeted with a warm and friendly welcome, followed with helpful guidance through their menu. I'd like to add I've lived in Salem my whole life and more recently I've noticed customer service is unfortunately not prominent in most restaurants these days. At Manna I was met with kindness and respect which I can really appreciate. This was followed up by being checked up on and asking if we needed anything throughout our meal. I didn't just feel like another person, I genuinely felt like my business meant something and that I was important. The owners are very kind people and really care for the experience you're having with them. The service here is beyond 5 stars. Atmosphere is also 5 stars. I felt very cozy more like I was being invited to have dinner in someone's home. Something I found very endearing was the plaques on the wall talking about both the owners lives and success. Having insight to their lives really makes the experience so much more meaningful. Lastly, the food! Absolutely delicious! One of my favorite meals is Rice with Curry and Chicken Katsu. This meal without a doubt was 1. The best Tonkatsu I've had anywhere and 2.This may seem weird to most but the rice was cooked perfectly with some of the best Japanese Curry I've ever had. From presentation to flavor, absolutely deserves 6 stars. If you've been thinking about coming here please do. I recommend this to anyone with a love for Japanese food. I will be returning! I wish the owners all the success...
Read moreI have been eating at this place for the past year and can sincerely say their consistent quality and taste will keep me coming back for more for a long time to come! This is a Japaese everyday kitchen restaurant featuring sushi and sushi burritos called "big rolls," fried chicken with rice (my personal favorite called "chicken karage" literally meaning fried chicken in Japanese) Poke and Ramen bowls. By far my whole family's favorite dish is the chicken karage (said ka ra geh), which is pieces of softly breaded fried chicken served over white rice and drizzled with soy sauce and a spicy saracha sauce that combine to a delightful flavorful blend of yumminess. I don't know how else to convince you, but this is a must try!! We have tried a good portion of the menu and have loved it all! The owners are so friendly and service is always excellent. This is not fast food (it usually takes betweek 15 and 20 minutes to get your food), but it is worth the wait because they know how to make it right! I recommend calling ahead if you are in a hurry. Definitely worth checking out, I have recommended it many times and everyone finds something...
Read moreLoved this place! Finally stopped by after driving past it and always saying “we should try that place”! Wishing I’d stopped sooner because it was so tasty and the service was so nice! They were friendly and the food came out fast. We ordered two sushi burritos, the twin wrap and ocean goddess. Both were really fresh and tasty and I can be picky about raw stuff! Orders came with simple cabbage salad and a delicious miso soup. Heavy on the miso which I appreciate since other places I’ve tried it seems watered down. Definitely coming back to try other dishes! It’s a small little hole in the wall with a couple counter seats and maybe four tables. Keep in mind they close for a few hours in between lunch and dinner, usually this is to prep for the evening meal so plan...
