Loved this place! Finally stopped by after driving past it and always saying “we should try that place”! Wishing I’d stopped sooner because it was so tasty and the service was so nice! They were friendly and the food came out fast. We ordered two sushi burritos, the twin wrap and ocean goddess. Both were really fresh and tasty and I can be picky about raw stuff! Orders came with simple cabbage salad and a delicious miso soup. Heavy on the miso which I appreciate since other places I’ve tried it seems watered down. Definitely coming back to try other dishes! It’s a small little hole in the wall with a couple counter seats and maybe four tables. Keep in mind they close for a few hours in between lunch and dinner, usually this is to prep for the evening meal so plan accordingly.

Do you want the best raw fish in Salem? Do you want to feel like an old family friend when you visit? Do you want to experience the best in Japanese this city has to offer? Manna is your place. We had, together, the Chirashi (mixed sashimi on rice) special- some of the best salmon belly, skin-on mackerel, and ikura I've had in the PNW, a "Fireworks" roll my boyfriend described as "literally a textural firework in your mouth," and some SOLID gyoza. When it comes to service, Manna works like the food truck they started as- familiar counter service with a small but diverse spread of menu items, and a genuine smile when your food is delivered. The family running this place is so, kind and sweet, and deserves all the business you send them.

Definitely better now that they are in their new location. They have much more space to expand their menu. I guess that means that in their truck they were limited. Their tonkatsu cutlet is much thicker than other places in town and is much more reminiscent of places in Japan. However, because the cutlet is thicker it needs to be cooked longer and the mouth feel is drier than I tend to enjoy. I can think of ways to remedy that, but it would likely be excessive for what is expected here. The peculiar smell from the last restaurant is largely gone (sealed in by the new coats of paint?). Also I don't particularly love their usage of disposable containers even for dine in customers, but understand why that decision is getting made.

I'm not someone who writes reviews often unless I feel very compelled to. I've heard of Manna for awhile now by word of mouth and decided today I'd stop in and check it out and I'd like to share my experience. I'd like to start off by saying if I could give them 6 stars I would. From the moment you walk in you're greeted with a warm and friendly welcome, followed with helpful guidance through their menu. I'd like to add I've lived in Salem my whole life and more recently I've noticed customer service is unfortunately not prominent in most restaurants these days. At Manna I was met with kindness and respect which I can really appreciate. This was followed up by being checked up on and asking if we needed anything throughout our meal. I didn't just feel like another person, I genuinely felt like my business meant something and that I was important. The owners are very kind people and really care for the experience you're having with them. The service here is beyond 5 stars. Atmosphere is also 5 stars. I felt very cozy more like I was being invited to have dinner in someone's home. Something I found very endearing was the plaques on the wall talking about both the owners lives and success. Having insight to their lives really makes the experience so much more meaningful. Lastly, the food! Absolutely delicious! One of my favorite meals is Rice with Curry and Chicken Katsu. This meal without a doubt was 1. The best Tonkatsu I've had anywhere and 2.This may seem weird to most but the rice was cooked perfectly with some of the best Japanese Curry I've ever had. From presentation to flavor, absolutely deserves 6 stars. If you've been thinking about coming here please do. I recommend this to anyone with a love for Japanese food. I will be returning! I wish the owners all the success...

I have been eating at this place for the past year and can sincerely say their consistent quality and taste will keep me coming back for more for a long time to come! This is a Japaese everyday kitchen restaurant featuring sushi and sushi burritos called "big rolls," fried chicken with rice (my personal favorite called "chicken karage" literally meaning fried chicken in Japanese) Poke and Ramen bowls. By far my whole family's favorite dish is the chicken karage (said ka ra geh), which is pieces of softly breaded fried chicken served over white rice and drizzled with soy sauce and a spicy saracha sauce that combine to a delightful flavorful blend of yumminess. I don't know how else to convince you, but this is a must try!! We have tried a good portion of the menu and have loved it all! The owners are so friendly and service is always excellent. This is not fast food (it usually takes betweek 15 and 20 minutes to get your food), but it is worth the wait because they know how to make it right! I recommend calling ahead if you are in a hurry. Definitely worth checking out, I have recommended it many times and everyone finds something...
