Dear owner, your statement "Care to explain the 1 star review", resonates with the passive-aggressive service that some of us received from an older female employee at the cash register. You may want to see Dishon's review of your establishment on Yelp. My experience was similar.
I only realized that I had rated your business at one star by accident upon receiving your response but I have increased it to two stars, intentionally. That said, I do thank you for inquiring upon how you could improve.
The establishment is impeccable. The floors, cashier counter, and tables were clean. In general terms, the food is fresh with one exception, thus far. There are restaurants that serve food that does not taste so great yet customers still enjoy it. As for Tacos Del Sur, I can confidently state that the food is slightly above in taste when comparing it to other restaurants. While refrigerating salsas to preserve them for the day is practical, cold salsa does not pair well with hot food. The taste of the salsas was average.
The first time customer experience was sub-par. There was an issue with a foul tasting ingredient that was brought to the attention of the couple running the establishment. They proceeded to gaslight the fact by assuming that I wanted a different dish and that there was no way that this could have happened. Since it was obvious what the offensive ingredient was, all that needed to be done is to remake the dish without it. Unfortunate, the couple was too busy shifting blame to the customer for bringing this fact. I have made additional visits but service still lacks in...

Being a frequent visitor of Mexico at least once a year, I crave those authentic street tacos when I am back in the states. So nothing may compared to actual street tacos that you purchase in Mexico, this will more than suffice for me and my wife until we get back there. I hear everything on the menu is to die for, the chili rellano is amazing And their tacos are to die for.
Just a local Mexican food shop that is producing some high-quality food at low prices. They work hard and the owners are always the ones back there cooking which says something about their work ethic and the heart that they devote to their business.
Honestly this shop reminds me of quite a few of them local places are used to visit when I lived in San Diego.
And did I mention their sauces are spectacular! Stuffy nose no more! Just go and eat some...
Read moreTacos Del Sur is a small tacqueria "hidden" behind the car wash near the corner of Lancaster and Sunnyview. I tried the Pambazo, which I would describe as a type of torta where the bread is dipped in a pepper sauce. My wife had a pair of Huaraches, which are "open-facing" like tostadas but made on a masa base, instead of a tortilla. Both dishes are popular street food in Mexico City, and I found both delicious and a nice change of pace. Definitely filling. Up front there were several varieties of salsa of varying levels of heat, plus limes, radishes and other vegetables. The prices here are great, such a better deal than those family-style Mexican Restaurants where you pay double the money for food that is less authentic. The owners are friendly and the location, while small (maybe 6 to 8 tables) is well-maintained....
