My 1st best experience in MOD PIZZA was towards Portland when we had to camp because of the fires.... so we decided to try in Salem sometimes later.... Im commenting only now because i just never got to it. Then forgot... Anyhow, my experince in Salem MOD was Horrible. Oven not very clean. Just over all seemed not very clean in their food areas. They are not very understanding about people's allergies even though they can make this pizza gf and dairy free and can take the food from the new buckets so they can exclude contamination even though i explained about the problem and assuming they are aware that they can take the new toppings from their containers under the counters. And then man starts to use the food under the glass. Had to tell the man to use the new. Also, asked make sure it goes onto seperate pan even while baking in their fire oven. The other man just puts the pizza in oven on the top of the cheese that was all over the oven. I for some reason thought this other man had putted the pizza on a seperate pan but when little later i looked i asked he did... he said no, and i asked to remake it because i didnt want to risk it. He didn't seem happy and was kind of grumpy. And oven was dirty and nasty.. So took me like more than 40 min, about 1 hour untill i get that one pizza. The person that was waiting for me drove back home to bring food for the people that were waiting, so then my husband had to drive to pick me up... Costumer service isn't nice. Never came back...
Read moreTheir quality for GF pizzas have dropped drastically. Before when asked and told it was GF they had specific bottles of sauce for it. However when the person had been explained that in our last visit, they told us they never had been trained to do that and they had been working there for a year. (We have been going multiple times thought the year and every time they made a gf pizza they did use the bottles without asking)
If any managers at MODs reads this. Pro tip: please train your staff that if someone asks for a gluten free or friendly pizza to automatically use the bottled sauces. Being told that they don't "assume" when someone wants GF that they mean it was a pretty disappointing thing.
We now no longer can order from doordash because we have no idea if they will try to keep it GF.
Even though it is Gluten Friendly not free, gluten friendly means you do everything you can to minimize gluten contamination. This one did not, they used the normal pizza pans, instead of the ones designated for GF pizzas, they put on a sauce that had visible crumbs in it instead of the bottled sauce, and as far as we could tell there was no...
Read moreMOD is great and we’ve had it several times! I really like that you pay a flat amount for the kind of pizza, and all the toppings are free, so you can customize the pizza however you want without having to pay extra. It’s outrageous that other companies charge a few dollars per extra topping when the pizza itself is already $25+. But I digress. This place is especially great if you’re trying to feed several people, and no one can agree on what toppings to get. They have several kinds of crusts, and lots of fresh toppings. The staff is friendly. Sometimes, the crust is a bit burnt, but it’s not the end of the world. When I went yesterday after we ordered online , I had to wait probably about an additional 10-12 minutes past the time they provided, and after they asked for the name used for the order, it turned out that the pizza had been sitting to the side, not in the area designated for online orders. Other than that, the...
