NW Smash & Burger Co — Restaurant in Salem

Last Saturday at around 3 PM, my family and I went to the food cart pods! I went to this establishment and asked if they served veggie burgers, they confidently said that they did and that would be no problem. After over half an hour my buzzer finally goes off to let me know that my food is ready, and to my surprise when I walk up to the window, neither my tater tots nor my burger were ready. The staff told me that they actually did not have what I ordered and offered to refund me. I was happy to order something else off the menu, but this time asked to pay after I received my meal. They refused and the girl Who originally took my order became extremely abrasive and aggressive when I asked to pay when I picked up my food. She said that I would likely “steal the food” if I did not pay for it. I told her I just didn’t want to pay over $20 and wait over 30 minutes to not have any food…. AGAIN. When I calmly asked why they waited over 30 minutes to tell me she then responded, and I quote “you are being rude”. I’ve worked in customer service for over 15 years, and frequent restaurants on a near daily basis and I have NEVER seen such hostility towards a customer when it was the restaurant who was at fault. I’m a millennial and hate leaving bad reviews (it’s been over 7 years since I left one), but it’s a week later after this interaction and my jaw is still on the floor. Please treat...

We stopped in today for lunch on a beautiful Saturday afternoon in October. We had our pup with us, and he needed to get out of the car for a minute. We wandered around the food cart pod and found the cart we came for. The service was polite and friendly. We ordered some bacon jam grilled cheeseburgers and some dirty fries plus a separate patty for the pup. It came out hot and ready in about 10 minutes.

We received our order and went back to the car to get back on the road. Fed the dog his patty, and he, of course, crushed his burger. We decided we should probably eat ours too. The bacon jam smashburger was very good, super thin patty with a nice sweet bacon jam on top. Highly recommended. The dirty fries were also pretty good, a bit sweet from the burger sauce, but the pulled pork was a great touch. Well worth the short detour from where we came from to try this great spot. Hands down one of the best burgers I've had. Great customer service and super friendly! They pay attention to quality and it's worth every penny. Really appreciate when people put the effort in to create something amazing and deliver consistently. Every time I head over to beehive with the intention to try something else, I end up at NW Smash and never regret it. Great work and keep it up!
