Subway — Restaurant in Salem

The drive-through experience here is miserable. Not only does it take an incredibly long time to even be acknowledged, but if there's any amount of inclement weather, you're going to get soaked as there's 0 cover either at the ordering speaker, or at the pickup window, and you'll be waiting quite a while at both. I'm surprised how badly they can screw up an order when you're literally dictating exactly what you want them to put on your sandwich/salad. Nobody was outright rude or nasty to us during the process, but they weren't exactly friendly, or even passably civil/polite.

The experience in the store is not great, but not terrible. About what you'd expect from a Subway, really. But they're very frequently out of ingredients, and take a super long time to make your food, and sometimes just kind of ignore you for a while before helping. The restaurant isn't filthy, but isn't particularly clean. If you go in to the restaurant, at least you can watch them make your food to ensure they don't completely screw up your order.

I'm guessing the issues are more due to low staffing issues, as there's very rarely more than 1-2 people working at any time, and they seem to be pretty stressed. I do have some concern about the freshenss of their ingredients, but I've never gotten sick eating here, nor has anybody else I know, so it's probably just my perception based on how lax everything else seems to be there. I've definitely encountered some stale bread on my sandwiches though.

Subway is probably my least favorite sandwich place personally - I'd much rather give my money to Jimmy John's, Jersey Mikes, Firehouse Subs, or just about anywhere else, so luckily, I don't end up here very often, but when my family has a craving, we still brave it even though we know it's not gonna be great - or...

I got a coupon in the mail for Subway deals, so I thought why not. I had worked a double and didn't feel like cooking so I decided subway would be quick and easy. I went to the store and the lady helped me with my order. I ordered a steak and cheese, and 2 turkey subs CaliFresh. I have not been to Subway in over 3 years. Apparently the coupon for 17.99 excluded the CaliFresh. I explained to the cashier Ken I wasn't aware. He basically said it was my fault and rang me up for 34.99. Mind you I didn't get the cheese or guacamole I felt paying double was outrageous I offered to pay the difference for the bacon and he said no. Again he said 34.99 and it said it on the coupon. I told him I didn't see it or I would not ordered it. I wouldn't pay 15 dollars for a few pieces of bacon. I told him to remove the bacon. I was degraded in the store. He said he couldn't remove it. I said remake the sandwich minus the bacon. He again said I should have read the coupon. This is inside the store mind you. I felt so embarrassed. The lady who assembled my order asked Ken if we could resolve the problem. He eventually charged me additional for the bacon. I will NEVER enter that store again. I will tell everyone I work with and all my friends how I was treated and to stay away from Subway.

I asked for a manager and I was told Ken was the assistant manager. I asked for his manager's name and he refused. He told me to complain to corporate. Ken was rude beyond words. He didn't have a name tag so I don't know if that was...

Let's me start by saying that I really enjoy Subway; it's good food, all across the states and a good price. This location even has extra bonuses of a fireplace, comfy chairs and a play area for small children. However, the price on the board should be correct and if not abided by. My husband and I ordered two six inch subs today and upon being rung up we're told that it was $1.50 more than what we expected. Now that isn't a lot of money, but when we mentioned the pricing in the board we we're told we we're wrong. I even walked back to check it again, finding that I was correct, I again said something and this time they went over and looked at it only to say "oh we must have forgotten to add the 7 & 9". And then they still charged us more!!! The price board should be abided by and I'm not going to go somewhere...
