This restaurant has the distinction of serving me the only bad meal I had during my vacation in Colorado. The fact that the place was almost empty on a Saturday afternoon when the town was teeming with people was a hint that I ignored because my granddaughter really wanted Mexican food. The server was friendly enough and the busy decor gave us plenty to look at. Those are the highlights of our visit. The very small serving of chips were neither fresh nor warm. The salsa was both watery and very spicy, but when asked we were accommodated with a milder version although it was just as watery. There was also a serving of what appeared to be cole slaw. All three of these items had a very off putting, sour taste. I passed, but my granddaughter was too hungry to wait for her entrée. We both ordered the large burrito; she had the chicken and I had the shredded beef. My food just wasn't good: the beef was dry and tasteless, but the red sauce had the same sour taste as the salsa and it was not only just as watery it was greasy as well. I didn't eat it. My granddaughter didn't want to wait to go to another restaurant, so she smothered hers in guacamole and sour cream and ate it. She was not impressed. I was truly disappointed this place didn't live up to the 5 star reviews it has received in the past. I don't recommend...

I am sad to say this place was terrible. If I could give it zero stars I would. The margarita was very average, but that was ok. The chips and salsa were acceptable also. Not great but not bad. Things really went downhill when they brought our entrees. My girlfriend got the shredded beef taco salad, and I had two ceviche tostadas, one shrimp and one fish. The beef in the taco salad was not good. The ceviche was even worse. The shrimp ceviche had a weird taste to it, but the fish ceviche was actually warm! Ceviche is made with chilled seafood that is “cooked” in lemon/lime juice. It is supposed to be served fresh and CHILLED. This was a pitiful attempt. This is the worst Mexican restaurant I have ever been to. Do not waste your time or money. The Mexican place on highway 50 is 100...

Order the Molcajate for two. Combination of grilled chicken, skirt steak, chorizo, shrimp and poblano pepper, cheese in a hot stone bowl with tortillas, lettuce, cilantra, sour cream, rice and beans on the side. Best Mexican food I have ever had. The flavors were incredible. Matched with the perfect margarita (skinny) fresh limes, nice liquor, great pour. We took leftovers back to our cabin. Best Dinner again the next night. Mom owns and runs the place but her son is actively involved. Fun, joyful people! Very honest to, as I left my sunglasses and came back 24 hours later and they had saved them for me. Incredible Food and EVEN Bettter people putting their Love into the food...

While the margaritas ‘only’ rated a B+, the generous portions more than made up for it. Salsa and Cabbage bowls that came with the chips were fantastic. For those that complained that the salsa was watery and the cabbage was ‘weird’, maybe they don’t know about traditional Mexican food. And my main course was fantastic! Also note that the rice, beans, guacamole, cabbage, salsa (and who knows what else) are made on the premises daily!
