If I could give this place 6 stars I would. If you can only make it to one place in town, this is the one to go to. Nice bar and plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. I was greeted by the friendliest bartender I’ve ever met, I believe his name is Diamond. The atmosphere is lively and the patrons are friendly. I had a sour beer on tap and the sirloin, substituting a salad with ranch dressing instead of the veggies, with mashed potatoes. The side salad it came with was huge, and the picture I took was after I’d already eaten half. The sirloin was one of the tastiest steaks I’ve ever had, and the mashed potatoes were delicious, too. Diamond was so thoughtful he even rinsed and wiped off the outside of my glass because beer spilled down the side when he poured it. This place feels a little magical - everyone here seems to be in a good mood, and it’s definitely the place that would be “my bar” if I lived here. Will absolutely be back! Thank you for the wonderful food and kindness!

Salida does not have restaurants that stay open very late. Most close at 9 and a few are open until 10 so this was one of the few places that was open. We were happy to find a restaurant as it seems Subway might have been the only other choice. The food was good but for the cost it just wasn't enough food. As you can see from the picture that I posted, it is BBQ chicken on top of a few green beans and mashed potatoes. Not a great lot of food, that landed up costing 24 dollars. It wasn't listed on the menu so I didn't realize that it was going to be so expensive. There are a few items that are not quite so pricey, but there's not a ton of choice so we will probably not go back. Fish tacos are on the farthest plate. They looked pretty amazing and I think cost about half of what the chicken cost.

Our visit to Currents in Salida, Colorado was thoroughly enjoyable. We opted for outdoor seating and were delighted by the serene atmosphere. Noah, our server, was exceptional—attentive and friendly throughout our meal. The French onion soup was a standout, with its rich flavor and cheesy goodness. The fish and chips were tasty, although they could have been a touch less greasy for our liking. My wife ordered the veggie wrap, which was decent but could have used something else to make it truly shine. Overall, Currents offers a pleasant dining experience with its welcoming outdoor setting, delicious food, and excellent service. We look forward to returning to try more from their menu!

This by far was the biggest mistake and disappointment in a long time for me. I'll be honest guys. Always loved the town of Salida always. Thus I decided to stop and eat there that day with my wife. But after driving 4 hours to my destination one way and another 4 hours back home and mind you had 2 pretty bad days at work I was truly looking forward to just simply have a good meal and turn a negative into a positive. And man I was wrong.. trust me. I'm am the last guy to complain about the price of a meal if the meal is good. Tasty meal? Thank you. My wife got the seabass special and I asked the waitress if the bison ribeye was better than their regular (25 day aged rib eye dish for 28$). The daily special by the way had its own little slim page menu and did not show the price. All good no complaints. My fault I didn't ask. Not blaming anyone. But please dont tell me when I ask which one is a better steak and more popular bison or regular. And please dont lie and tell me its only a little more gamey type of meat. I had bison before and this steak was the worst I ever had. I didn't wanna argue. After 15 minutes went by and I was already grossed out by my meal the server finally came by, and asked how's everything taste. I said " Not really that good a little too gamey and under cooked". After which she replied "I'm sorry but I told you it was a little gamey... and walked away." Basically saying I'm not gonna replace your steak cause you don't like it. Cool no problem. 2 min. later the manager shows up and basically insinuated that if I dont like the bison ribeye oh well. He can give me a to go box and make me something else instead. So for a second I though ok. He is gonna offer me any meal I want and remove the bison steak off the bill. Wife was already done with her seabass plate. Btw. Nope. He tried to charge me for the steak I didn't like and charge me for fish and chips as well. Which was my choice cause its quick and easy to make. Bottom line I was charged 45 for a bison ribeye which was under cooked. And offered to pay for fish and chips on top of it. But declined cause I knew they were not going to take that off the bill. We are real positive people and tild them to just give us a to go container for the steak. But check this out. After getting over this horrible steak we offered dessert. Raspberry Shortcake. Wow. Frozen and dry cake in a swampy rasp syrup. Who checks this food???? Wow. Worst dessert in the last 20 years of my life. Thanks for at least comping that. What was that...

We were a party of 3, entered Currents Restaurant on a Tuesday night (8/15/23) at 8:45pm, posted closing was 10pm. The outside tables, 8, were full. Inside, two guests sat at the bar, a table of 2 were finishing their meal, a party of 8 was being seated (only 2 guests had arrived) We waited 3-4 minutes to be seated, the hostess was also the busser. The wait was fine. Looked like there were 4 people in the kitchen and 2 wait staff, one female and one male. The hostess sat us, left 3 menus and 2 waters. She left us and proceeded to clean tables. Next, another party of 2 were seated behind us. The party of 8 was still trinkling in. The party behind us, seated after us, made their drink orders, and told of the night specials. The party of 8 had all arrived, their drink orders were taken, and one appetizer was delivered to their table. We, party of 3, still had not been acknowledged. The bartender attempted to deliver 2 beers to our table (party of 3, a mom and 2 teenagers) I said "ohhh not for us, but we'd love another water and ice". The bartender delivered the 2 beers to the table behind us, the correct table. And never returned. The party of 8, now all seated, placed their food order. We still had not been acknowledged, or given another water. Now a stray dog entered the restaurant, not Currents fault. The female waitress picked up the dog, carried it behind the bar, turned around carried it between our table and the party of 8 and took the dog outside. She then returned to the party of 2 behind us and took their food order, never washed her hands after handling the dog. Yuck we're out of here. After 16 minute of being seated we were never approached/ acknowledged. We stood up and left. After we were out of the restaurant my daughter committed the female and male wait staff were glaring at us threw the large front window. My son committed "it was your shirt Mom". It never occurred to me. My PRIDE shirt was greeted and given such hatred in this establishment. Very sad, inappropriate and unprofessional in this day of 2023, an organization/business is not welcoming, inclusive to ALL individuals. I hope this business will stop this repulsive behavior of their associates and impose DEAI (Diversity, Equity, Accessibility, Inclusion) training to all of...

My girlfriend, our daughter and I came in on Friday night to have one last dinner in Salida before we headed back to Houston. We were sat in a timely manner, and were brought water and asked what else we'd like to drink. I chose a local whiskey, which was good - however, I asked for a single cube of ice, not knowing they'd use a cube that had melted 90% by the time I got the drink; they could invest in some silicone molds for larger ice for bourbon. We shared the calamari, which was fantastic - the sauce was great and the calamari was delicious. I gave 3 stars because I'm pretty upset about my entree - the 20 oz. Bone-in Ribeye. I saw that it was $36, so I had high hopes.. I had asked for rare plus, but she told me the kitchen informed her that it was "a temperature thing" and she would rather I ordered rare and if need be, have it sent back to be cooked up. Fair enough (at this point I'm worried). The steak comes out, and I can't even cut the bone off the main portion of the steak because it had so much gristle. It was undercooked for what I wanted and had it sent back. I asked if they could cook it up with a cast iron skillet instead of the grill, and they informed me they did not have one (SERIOUSLY?). *I'd like to point out, that for $36, the meat had better be high quality OR they should do something great with the meat they have. Neither were done - they used a grill to cook it, and it had zero flavor. I ate what I could (the sauce helped, it was actually very good). My girlfriend had the fish and chips,...
