Forks & Fingers at the Legends — Restaurant in Salina

Full disclosure- this should be a 5 star review. But, it just can't be. I'm a driver and I pass by here at least once a week as its situated right next to a mom n pop truck stop. The booze is cold, its priced right and its a great place to catch a game. However, during game time, you may wait a little bit to be served. The bartender is also the server. She does a great job, but this place is hardly ever empty, so sometimes you have to wait a little bit; so I had to take away 1 star. What's much more troubling is the inconsistency of their wings and the cooks overt arrogance. Twice in the past I have had the most delicious wings I've ever had here. Seriously. I love wings and football, and this place did that well! Except for this time. This time, random bits of my wings were stone cold and tough. They were obviously reheated; more than likely via microwave. I don't go out to eat for reheated, yesterday's wings, so I asked the bartender/server about it. She asked the cook who responded they weren't reheated and fresh fried... Now, I'm an easy going guy and want to be fair and kind. But i'm also not an idiot. The beifit of frying is the consistent, even temperature your food is enveloped in while cooking. There is no way, fresh frying wings would leave some warm and juicy, and some cold and tough. That's not how frying works lol.

So, I'll still come here. I think they try and when they are on their A game, its pretty great. But, if there were other options around here, I'd probably be more inclined to try them now. Wings aren't cheap and I don't pay restaurant prices to have them microwaved and then lied...

Worst service ever. Ever. Walked in, waited forever to be seated, finally was told to pick anywhere to sit. Even though the sign said wait to be seated. Was a group of 8 elderly people in the room we were in, and overheard them wondering if they were going to ever receive their food. We should have left then. Finally after 10 minutes our waitress walked and asked us if we wanted anything to drink, I asked her what beers they had on tap, her answer was "All the normal ones". So we ordered, and waited, and waited. Drinks finally arrived..waitress walks away....I say "Hey can we get menus?" Oh yeah she says, sorry. She brings back 2 menus, there is four of us including my young daughter. I ask for a kids menu. So then we precede to sit for 10 to 15 minutes waiting to order. Finally my wife has had enough. Takes another 10 minutes to get the waitress' attention to ask for the our bill because we were leaving. We were there for 45 minutes got 4 drinks and no food. Worst service ever. And if they were busy I could have somewhat understood but they were not even half full. I gave one star because it will not let me give zero starts. I am assuming the other reviews recently are...

The food was good—the wings were especially good! Both the Jamaican jerk & honey bbq were delicious! Butter chicken was flavorful but looked questionable at first—rather brown & more clumpy looking instead of red/orange & more creamy. The adult burger tasted good but looked very squished down on arrival—the bun was very flat and the fries had no seasoning. The service & snafus we endured is what really reduces the score of the restaurant. Our waitress was decent. When we ordered for our children—burgers & grilled cheese (offered by the waitress since they don’t have a kids menu). The cook (or someone?) came out & said they couldn’t make grilled cheese and they would do sliders for the kids instead of burger. We said the sliders were fine but why say something was available if it wasn’t. After the food came out, we had to order extra fries because the cook assumed we didn’t want any? Since the food came out in waves, it made us wonder if they were going to forget some of our other food. Overall—we’d visit again but only if we were staying at the hotel; simply out of...
