We really have a good experience here and Andrea was really a pleasant person when she checked us in as well as the person who took care of the breakfast.
I know it's not a five-star hotel but considering where it is financially they gave five-star service and effectually made our experience very pleasant.
I think this is a decent value for a hotel and far enough from the freeway that it's a quick access but you don't have any noise.
For us the bed slept extremely comfortably. The room was clean and looked modern.
The breakfast was your typical scrambled eggs and biscuits gravy etc. the grains were muffins cereal or pancakes. Juice options for orange juice and apple. As well as the fruit offerings being oranges and apples.
If you're looking for whole Food plant-based options you may suffer that here. So just plan for that. The braum's ice cream next door had some pretty nice salads in bags as its food store and an ice cream place they'll remember your options will be limited.
Right down the street is a place called Dillon's, it is a Kroger branch, so you should be able to find food options there that you can assemble yourself
Coffee, decaf & teabags ☕ 🍵 were available and they also had a thing of iced cold water at the front desk.
It was 103° during our stay and the rooms for cool to whatever temperature necessary. We ran our room around 75 to 77 and it stayed comfortably there. When we got to the it was 68° and you could feel every degree of that.
The showers for very nice and it had all the pump liquids would need to suffice and as well having a hair dryer what's a night light built-in which was kind of unique.
The mirror for the vanity was highly lit so be ready for that starkness if your eyes are just waking up.
A little side note we did go across the street to braum's ice cream and tried a pineapple almond vanilla and oh my gosh that was deadly.
Lastly, as I was exiting the establishment to continue traveling a tablet had dropped out from my bags and the attendant came out and handed it to me and he was just such a gracious man.
You know, in a town that's not necessarily known for service unfortunately for Salina Kansas, in a time in life where people just don't seem to be as friendly as you would expect across the Nation; I'm finding a place that just has a simple travel convenience of people being polite and caring is becoming more and more rare.
For me, this place is a place I will definitely stay at in the future due to the whole package not just one or two little things that reveals a pickiness based on somebody's whims.
Thank you to Baymont. Your hotel chain and establishment of owners could learn so very much from the staff here.
Candidly, I don't think I've seen a more pleasant group of people and that reflects ownership and management.
Please, and by all means, take the time to continue to sort out people that have a caring about them.
You guys are so worth our stay and thank you for keeping the prices affordable. Thank you even more so for the graciousness of time.
You guys are a blessing beyond...
Read moreFirst impressions are everything. We had to find a hotel in Salina, KS and the Baymont had the highest number of positive reviews. But, your first impression will leave you wondering if you made the right decision.
When you pull up you'll first notice the next door neighbor is a manufactured home park. And sketchy is putting it lightly. The online photo of the outside is misleading. And the lobby is very dark with more of a cafeteria feel than an actual lobby. Damaged ceiling tiles and water stains round out the look.
The staff was positive and very helpful. No problems with staff or check-in. But you can see that security is an issue as you face two screens of camera angles throughout the hotel. It seems at this point the majority of their profits have been put into the cameras.
The hallways were not much better. There was a musty feel that seems to attach to everything and we really felt like the hotel was one of the more run down ones we've visited. The unknown goo on the luggage cart handle didn't help.
By the time you get to your room, you're sure you've made a horrible choice.
The room was not much better. Damaged drywall, wet carpet, and the same musty feel.
The best features were the sparkling clean pool, and newly updated shower and sink. But, by the time you got to those you felt you needed to shower off the rest of the hotel experience up to this point.
If this hotel put half it's efforts into the initial experience that it did into security, this wouldn't be a bad hotel. I...
Read moreHorrible business! I had just left the emergency room with my grandson as he had an allergic reaction to something in my home, most likely, my new kitten. The doctor told me not to take him back home as another reaction could be life threatening. It was 2:30 in the morning and this motel was close to my home so I stopped to get a room at almost $100 for the night. I gave her my credit card and she asked for an ID. When she saw I was from Salina, she said I had to pay a $200 cash deposit as they have had people from Salina damage their rooms. I gave her the $200 cash deposit and she only gave me a receipt for my room. I requested a receipt for my $200 cash and she said she did not have anything to give me a receipt with. I told her I wanted my money back if she could not give me a receipt for the cash. She canceled my room and gave me my cash back. I went to the next motel, AmericInn, and as soon as I walked in, the man knew who I was as the motels are owned by the same owners. He too told me he had to have a cash deposit and he too was not able to give me a receipt for my cash. He said he would put it in an envelope with my name on it and give it back in the morning. NO, I want a receipt for $200 cash. They did not care about my situation of having a grandson that had just left a 2 hour emergency room visit and us trying to find a place to get some sleep. They just wanted me to give them $200 cash and no receipt. Thank god the 3rd motel I went to was not owned by the...
