La Mariposa Bakery — Restaurant in Salinas

This Mexican bakery is really good. I normally come here early in the morning, around 5 am, its busy. Mexican crowd almost exclusively.

They have the typical types of Mexican pastries, which are very tasty, along with bolillos, Mexican rolls(also very good fresh), American style pastries( surprisingly good), Mexican deli stuff(I recommend their tamales. Although anything I've had is good). Good breakfast burritos.

I haven't tried their cakes, freshly made health drinks, fruit cups, puddings. But they look good.

Service has been excellent. Prices are fair.

My family and I buy tamales from here 1x per month (they’re sooo good!). I would have gave them 5 Stars but today I had the unfortunate experience of receiving tamales that were expired (sour-taste). I tried calling them to let them know but after 3 attempts to get on the phone w/ someone, I kept getting directed to their voicemail. Hence for this experience I am giving them 4 Stars instead of 5.
