This beach reminds me of visiting the Jersey shore!
It’s the only beach in MA with arcades and fried dough and a whole scene built up around it (Nantasket has a bit of this vibe but much less hyped).
I love that you can borrow beach toys for kids and return them.
I’m not sure if there is an accessible ramp all the way into the water, but I did use the ramp off to the side where you first walk in. Making beaches accessible for wheeled users is a huge deal to me!
I did feed the seagulls. They’re pretty aggressive. But they made me happy to look at at.
There were several lifeguards on duty, and, if you want a quieter beach, 15 min away is Plum Island, or you can pop over to Newburyport for some quaint downtown vibes instead.
You can also drive 10 min North and get ice cream of burgers in NH!

Read moreThis, besides the beach ⛱️ itself, is the best part of Salisbury Beach 🏖️. A well maintained boardwalk with trash 🗑️ and recycle ♻️ cans, a play area for toddlers, benches, picnic 🧺 tables and a great view of the ocean 🌊. The center has plenty of places to sit and eat. There are receptacles for trash, recycling and pizza 🍕 boxes. The center area looks good 👍. Public...
Read moreThe boardwalk has come to life over the past few years. The backside of the strip facing the beach looks so run down and has the memories of previous beach days past many years ago for some. Definitely in need of some TLC. The beach I find to be fairly dirty but when there's so many people you don't notice.
What I love. Easy to park. The parking lot is huge, plenty of spaces and it was $6 for 3 hours vs the $40 at Hampton Beach.
We were there at high tide and the lifeguard was down at the water watching and making sure people were safe due to how fast and high the waves were. In all 31 years of my life I've never witnessed a lifeguard at the shoreline actively watching...
