*Not African American Friendly * Decided to try Gourmandise because it seemed to have good food, due to the lovely looking pastries. Plus it was the most convenient restaurant location next to our gate of departure at the SLC Airport.
A little background info: My fiancé and I are African American, (no biggie right?)
We entered Gourmandise near the pastry section. We saw the greeter ( male with long ponytail) standing at the entrance. As we went to the entrance the greeter walked away and began aimlessly wondering around the restaurant. We waited about five minutes before I decided to seat myself.
As we walked in and looked for a table a female worker welcomed us. I told her what just happened. She told me the male was waiting to clock in, OK.
We were seated and advised our server would be there shortly. My fiancé noticed the female worker taking to our soon to be server. The server looked in our direction and rolled her eyes. After that the sever started wondering around the bar area aimlessly. The server came over to take our drink order. She returned and we placed a meal order. My fiance got a grilled cheese brisket sandwich and I got the salmon. Not sure why it took so long to prepare our food, but the manager (I believe) delivered the food to our table. My fiancé asked him for an additional cup of ice because our server hadn't returned.
No additional service was rendered until the bill came.
My fiancé paid with a $100 dollar bill. The server took a while to return. I'm sure she checks all large bills for authenticity. She returned happy and even provided me with extra cutlery 🤗.
At best the meals were okay. The service outright terrible.
For the amount paid I like to think you'd treat customers better.
This place is a No for me.

I never dreamed of finding a meal as well prepared as the one I had at Gourmandise. The beautiful blend of roasted tomatoes and fried leek merged seamlessly with the paprika aioli and arugula all while being layered on top of a bed of carmelized onions balanced on a layer of herbed cream cheese; it’s hard to believe, but this was just the beginning of the amazingly well prepared Euro Burger that was prepared by Chris’ skilled hands in the kitchen. It’s hard to describe the true depth of flavor he created aside from saying it was as if I was served a meal prepared by loving family.
Additionally I was once again amazed by the quality and attention to detail that was contained within the Passion Fruit Mousse Cake I ended my meal with. The layers of scratch made cake and smooth mousse were accented greatly by the passion fruit glaze and fresh berries topping that was accompanied by a delicious slice of white chocolate.
I feel that non of this amazing meal could have been made possible without the attentive and kind service provided by my server, Shante. She seemed more like family than a restaurant employee, and not only provided excellent service, but managed to provide fulfilling conversation with all of her customers WHILE providing that amazing service.
All-in-all I feel that missing the opportunity to dine here would be a travesty! Stop by, be welcomed like family, and let the manager Cassie (who helps make this family environment while) know that...

The restaurant offers two distinct areas: a dine-in section and a convenient To-Go area. If you’re in a hurry, the To-Go section is perfect for grabbing a quick bite. Additionally, the To-Go area features a bar, which is a nice touch..
During my visit, I sat in the dine-in area, and I must say that the food arrived promptly. Despite the restaurant’s high volume of customers, they managed to serve us efficiently..
