My family and I ate lunch at this restaurant on 9 Aug 2024 during a not-so-desired, lengthy layover. When I first read all the reviews, I was shocked to see a significant amount of low ratings and negative reviews for a seafood restaurant from what appears to be a popular venue in all of Salt Lake City (that's just an assumption, as I am not from Utah). Regardless, the restaurant looked nice and welcoming which obviously contributed to our visit...not to mention, most of the other restaurants in the terminal didn't sound good.

The service at this restaurant was just ok; our hostess (unknown name) and main server (Nathalia), weren't as friendly as desired, but their lack of friendliness could've been attributed as a result from other elements (personal issues, employees/management, previous customers throughout the day, etc.)...so I try not to have that affect my overall view of this restaurant, especially when the food/drinks were still brought out in a timely manner with no mistakes. However, I wish we would've kept our initial server when we first arrived (didn't get her name)....because she was a lot friendlier. For an airport restaurant, the view and ambiance is magnificent; we even heard a piano playing in the background which made the experience relaxing.

We ordered the Blackened Ahi Tuna and Clam Chowder for our appetizers; Crab and Avocado Sandwich; Classic Caesar Salad w/Salmon; and Fish and Shrimp Tacos for our entrées. The chowder was good and the Blackened Ahi Tuna was just ok. The tuna wasn't as fresh as it could be (even for a non-coastal state), and the Asian Slaw that accompanied the Ahi Tuna was old (contained a few brown pieces). The Crab and Avocado Sandwich was decent; definitely nothing to write home to Mom and Dad about. The Classic Caesar Salad was served way too warm - I'm used to having cold/crisp romaine lettuce pieces throughout but for some reason, the entire salad was warm (not just the pieces under the salmon). Also, the salmon lacked flavor/adequate seasoning. The show-stopper from this visit was clearly the Fish and Shrimp Tacos! The balance of flavors, along with the sauces were outstanding and unforgettable.

Overall, this restaurant is ok, as depicted in my 3-star rating. There was nothing extremely negative that would prevent me from trying this restaurant again in the future; however, I'm also not jumping up and down right now in anticipation for my next visit to this restaurant either. The prices were reasonable and I highly respect how this restaurant supports the active men and women of the Armed Forces, along with its Veterans. I'll still recommend this restaurant to others, primarily for those shrimp...

Top Notch Airport Nosh!! Happened to be rerouted thru SLC on my way back home to Austin - MAN I miss the UT mountains!!! After a super choppy decent I was looking for something to calm my nerves, and those mountains never disappoint! 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼 I had a couple hours to wander around (and a FREE meal voucher burning a hole in my phone!) so I took my time perusing the eateries along the newly expanded jetway and came upon Market Street Grill! Trendy little spot at the convergence of a couple of the major gateways; where you can charge your phone, work a bit, people watch, or just hang a while n take in the views of those gorgeous mountains. They’ve really put some thought into this venue, with high glass windows n wide vistas. It really is relaxing (see tiny video!) Market Street Grill features local favorites but their signature dish is their famous Clam Chowder; which interested me since we are clearly a long way from the sea (unless you can count that Great Salt Lake!!) they also do a lot of seafood dishes. Today I chose to partake of their Cod Tacos. These babies are grilled to perfection, not fishy at all, and nestled inside of a double love hug of corn tortillas along with cabbage, red onions, pico de gallo and then topped with a light drizzle of cilantro lime cream sauce YUMMY. They also serve more pico and green tomato salsa on the side. I also got their fries as I was walking by someone as I was led to my seat n they looked super good! NOT DISAPPOINTED. They were crisp shoestring cut and not greasy at all. Cooked perfectly, not hard and still full of super potato bite! So glad I got them; I had some to save for later as well as the tacos were so Filling I could only eat one! Next time you are flying thru Salt Lake City make sure you stop by Market Street Grill. They offer a wide variety of yummies, from Steaks, to seafood, to burgers, to Salad and a really good selection of Apps and Drinks at the bar! Oh also! Shout out to my server Morton. He was slammed while I was there, but he kept his cool, kept refills coming and orders flowing, all while making sure to keep checking on all his tables like a...

There isn't anything too special about an airport diner/cafe/sandwich location but this restaurant did a great job bringing some diner food to our table.

We were seated immediately and discovered the virtual menu. Looking through the menu, we realized we could order right from the menu, pay, and everything would come out! We didn't put our table number, give a name to any server, or anything. We put our order in, paid, and within about 5 minutes, a server came over to us with our drink order! Woah! How did you know that was us? Was it based on the specific table identifying QR code or something? I don't know but it was really nice.

So, food comes out, hot, and delicious. I ordered a basic ham and cheese omelet with a side of house potatoes which very much had a diner taste to everything. Loved it. Thank you. My husband ordered a basic breakfast meal with eggs, toast, bacon, and the side order of potatoes as well. He said his was great also. Thank you!

The best part of the experience was not necessary the food but the flexibility and freedom to pay while ordering then when you're done eating, you can leave when you want! You don't have to wait on the server to come back and forth to your table to take a card for payment, then come back to sign the receipt and give a tip. It was great. We did tip, btw, when we ordered the food. It was very convenient.

I give this restaurant a 5 star rating not necessary for their comfort, speed, hospitality, or even food quality. I give them a 5 star rating because of the ease and flexibility with ordering and payment. It's the first time we've experienced that with a restaurant, so thank you for the positive...

Shockingly terrible service and food. It's amazing what passes as acceptable in this country at restaurants. After being seated I waited 15 minutes for a server. I asked for vodka soda, water, and a bowl of clam chowder. After waiting another 15 minutes my vodka soda arrives with barely a hint of vodka. Mostly soda and ice. Waste of $13. No one brought water. I had to flag down my server to ask again for water. Finally water arrived with clam chowder, however no one brought napkins or silverware. After waiting longer I ask the server for these items and of course waited longer for them. The clam chowder might be the worst I've ever had. Super thick and lumpy and tasted like celery chowder. Zero clam taste and had the texture of thick lumpy oatmeal. Not learning my lesson and still hungry I ordered a steak sandwich. After waiting another 25 minutes my server came by to say it won't be much longer. All the while no one cared to refill my empty water glass. Finally the "steak sandwich" arrives as a strip of lukewarm steak lying on a piece of toast with an A1 packet. What!? How is this a steak sandwich?! After waiting for my server to pass by again and asking why the meat isn't cut, she tells me knives aren't allowed in the airport. I ask why they are serving steak if knives aren't allowed. She says "use the butter knife". By this time my steak is cold and chewy and I sent it back. After an hour and 20 minutes I finally get my check and leave, still hungry. What a joke for a restaurant. I guess they believe American travelers will accept any kind of atrocious service and slop for food.
