For a foreigner who travels quite often in and out of the country, I find SLC CBP Officers to be the most efficient and most courteous federal agents in the country. After my last entry into the country through JFK in 2022, I was dreading my return trip this time around in 2023. Luckily SLC did it much better, they put the trust in our government back in me. Having been a naturalized citizen in this country for over 15 years and travelled more than half a dozen times out of the country, I was locked up in an interview room for 4 hours at JFK Customs (Random checks), caused to miss my flight with my (7) minors and wife in tow and spent the night in a crowded JFK airport in the summer of 2022. This trip was much different, I was met with friendly face, courteous service, welcoming environment. The CBP Officer at SLC made me feel at home again. SLC will always be home; SLC Customs will always be my choice of airports to enter back into the country for future travels at all cost. Job well done US CBP in Salt Lake. Thank you for treating people, your fellow citizens and visitors with dignity...
Read moreTwo Officers at Customs and Boarder Control are very Rude and Disrespectful telling me to “Hurry Up, I don’t like kids.” “Why do you live there?” “Why don’t your kids have passports” “I won’t let your kids in because they don’t have a passport” They have all the right documents to enter the US for a short visit. I understand they need to ask “What is the reasoning of your stay and how long?”But they don’t need to ask about my personal life and make me feel guilty for coming home to see my family! I travel over 20 hours to see my family and am exhausted entering the country with two small kids ready to see Grandma and Grandpa. To be honest it hurts to see my home country doing this to me and others. I want this to be known so something can be changed. Please be kind and respectful, everyone has traveled so far to come visit.
On a positive note, 4 years ago one Officer about 65, asked the needed questions and then said.” Enjoy seeing your family, welcome home!” I had to cry then because he made me/my family feel so good. Please, try to be Kind like this...
Read moreI recently completed my Global Entry/APEC interview and had a very positive experience overall. Since I scheduled an appointment in advance, there was no wait time—I was helped right away. The entire process was straightforward: I provided my passport and driver’s license for ID and address verification, had my fingerprints scanned, and recorded my signature.
The process itself was quick, probably around 15 minutes total. The only minor issue was that the signature capture software was glitchy—I had to attempt it several times on multiple computers before it finally worked. That said, the agent assisting me was very friendly, professional, and patient throughout the process, which made the experience stress-free.
The only real inconvenience was that the interview was held at the airport, meaning I had to pay for parking and deal with the usual traffic and navigation challenges that come with airport visits. But overall, it was an efficient and painless experience, and I’m glad to have...
