Decided to take the risk and come here having read all the recent reviews, and wanted to write an honest, legitimate review. I have no idea what some people are talking about, this place is quite good! Not many options in SLC for Chinese food, so it was either this or Panda Express, and I'm glad we went here. To be honest, this place is clearly pretty old and dingy and not in the best location, so it can seem a little sketchy, (particularly at night). We went for it anyway, and the guy up front was super friendly and personable. The wait wasn't too long, and the food was perfectly good. We got the chicken lo mein and I did the Two Barbecue on rice (with soy chicken and cha siu). The cha siu was very good! And the chicken was silky and juicy (if you're not used to traditional soy chicken you might not like the cut because you have to be careful of the bone pieces). It came with bok choi as well, it was all tasty and very good Cantonese style dish. My only complaint would be the rice was a little dry or perhaps not very fresh, but everything else was good. The lo mein was also good and has the kind of thinner noodles, and comes with bean sprouts. Price is super reasonable, so obviously don't come expecting something gourmet or the best food ever - but portions were good and it was all perfectly tasty. I'm glad we went for it despite the exterior appearance and bad reviews, this place seems very genuine and has good Chinese food. Granted, I can't compare it to the previous ownership because I've never been here before. I am from the Seattle area where there are excellent family owned Chinese restaurants all over the city, and my mom is Chinese and a great cook, so I wanted to write an objective review. For being one of the few options here, and such a reasonable price, this place isn't bad at all and I would come here again.

I stopped by to grab some Chinese food and I saw this place. It looked kind of sketchy and had a couple of homeless people in the parking lot but no big deal. I ordered at the counter from a really nice young lady and sat down. She brought my food to the table so all is good. I ordered pork fried rice and hot and sour soup. I was ready some of the reviews while I was waiting and saw that the older ones had an owner from China, that isn’t the case anymore everyone there is Hispanic so here goes my review of the food. I eat Chinese food more than any other ethnic cuisine so I’ve got some idea of what is food and what isn’t. The hot and sour soup was not awful although it had pieces of chicken in it that is a first for me. It was a bit runny and had too much of a vinegar flavor. The rice had absolutely no flavor at all and there were small pieces of pork among the few vegetables and wilted bean sprouts. There was both on any of the tables to add to the rice, soy, hot sauce, chili sauce. The only thing I saw was an empty bottle of low sodium soy sauce in a lower compartment by the front desk. The place looked clean enough but when I left I had bites on my legs from something that I didn’t have when I arrived. I won’t return to have flavorless rice the bites were extra.

I’ve eaten here for 10 years. I order the same selection of a few dishes and they are delicious every time. I was pretty surprised by some of the negative reviews. Is the neighborhood sketchy? Yes. Are there homeless people around? Yes. Not sure how that is Little Worlds fault. Some people faulted the building for being run down. I also read about the ethnicity of the cooks… seems weird as long as the food is good and authentic. I can’t speak to the duck or other dishes people have had issues with. We always order the following. 1. Pom Pom chicken (always always good) 2. Veggie Lo mien with egg noodle (delicious) 3. Green beans & carrots cooked with garlic. (it’s not really on the menu but my wife lived in china for a year and this is the only place that does it right) We get take out from here frequently. Twice in the past month. For the price?.. hard to beat, I highly recommend for Chinese takeout

We'd never ordered takeout from Little World before, but were happy to give it a try. My family ordered: 220. Wontons in Supreme Soup, 283. Shrimp Balls and Tofu Pot, 32. Mu Shu Chicken, 25. Curry Chicken, and 75. Braised Tofu and Assorted Vegetable. When the food arrived, it all smelled sooo good! Once we started eating, before we'd realized it, I'd eaten most of the Mu Shu Chicken -- without even putting it into one of the wraps! -- and my son had eaten almost all of the Shrimp Balls and Tofu Pot, too! Once we settled down, though, I could see why we couldn't put their food down. Everything was so flavorful and delicious. The vegetables are very fresh, and there is a great variety in each dish. Everything is chopped up really nicely yet are cut larger than we'd been used to, which is really good. The portions were much larger, too. Other Chinese places we'd eaten at seem bland and far less generous, by comparison. The Mu Shu came with several wrappers, and a tub of hoisin(?) sauce, and wow -- it's just fantastic; the bamboo shoots are really tender and so good. I loved the Braised Tofu, which had large pieces of tofu and veggies. The Wonton Supreme Soup was, really, the best Chinese soup I've ever had; the wontons are made differently than those I've had before, with a wonderful texture and flavor, and the halved baby bok choy included was fantastic. The Curry was filled with distinct flavors, a different mix of curry spices, we haven't enjoyed before. And as for the Shrimp Balls and Tofu Pot, well, it looked and smelled delicious before my son scarfed it all up, pronouncing it the best Chinese food he'd ever eaten. I understand that Little World is now under different management than in the past. I don't know what it was like years ago, but our food was great and the service was engaged and helpful. We all cannot wait to go back. Such a great value for such delicious and generous...

Terrible service! Would give no stars at all if possible! My bf and I went to pick up a take out order through their drive thru. The window was open, but there was no one to be seen. After yelling "hello?" through the window several times, a chef was singing as he walked past the window. He saw us, but didn't acknowlege us. We yelled through the window several more times. Another chef walked by, saw us, didn't acknowlege us either, and proceeded to cook just barely within sight of the window. Fairly angry now, we yelled through the window "Hello?! Could we please get some help?!" The chef just barely within sight, peeked around the wall hiding him, and looked at us with a blank and stupified expression. "We're here to pick up a take out order! Could we please get some help?!" The chef replied with a dull & uncaring "oh" before turning around to call to a coworker. His coworker arrived a couple minutes later, and we were FINALLY able to get our order. What should have only been a few minutes process, took over 20 minutes. Terrible AF service and bad tasting food to boot. After leaving, I researched them online and found that they've had some atrocious food violations, some of the most and worst ever in SLC, being forced to close completely until they met all of the food regulation guidelines. I'm honestly in complete shock that this restaurant...
