Sonic Drive-In — Restaurant in Salt Lake City

Sonic is just an all around win!! I frequent many different locations of this very satisfying old school themed drive thru. The menu is very different from most of the fast food places which is all cheeseburgers or chicken fingers there’s a lot of food you can’t find elsewhere or you would think could be on a drive through menu which is very refreshing because I’m tired of cheeseburgers everywhere we go. Big hotdogs other than chili and cheese are so good. My absolute favorite is the Oreo cheesecake shake never had a shake this unbelievably good! All the amazing drinks with sonic famous pebble ice which for any ice connoisseur like myself you know that there’s a difference between nugget and pebble ice pebble eyes is the closest thing you get to a slushy without it being a slushy it’s amazing you can swallow the ice hole without having to chew which sounds very weird but it’s not. Select locations, will actually sell you a whole bag of their Pebble ice & I haven’t found one yet that doesn’t do this.. I buy a bag of this week and put my own powdered flavoring over the top to make the best slushy ever!! The service is always great & the servers really do go above & beyond. Breakfast served all day & is soooo good! Have to try the hot pretzel! There’s not a bad thing I can say about Sonic and of course I’m a late nighter so I love when they stay open until 1 AM. Which I thought was all the time? I have been in the last six months to some locations where I guess it’s 10 or 11 so that sucks I wish they would all stay open till 1 AM....

Excellent service and friendly with the hop. I wish i could have taken pictures to justify their hospitality in cook to order, however on my second visit, waited nearly 30 mins even though i ordered thru the app. I sat there and the screen lit up with a message saying that there was an error placing my order. Okay, Simple enough. So i pressed the call button, girl asked if she could take my order, i said i have an error msg and wondered what was wrong. She said nothing was wrong, okay. So i sat and watched im my rear view mirror looking at the employees, the person walking around and constantly fixing her hair and acting like she was in charge. Again, fixed her hair x5 and i looked at the time. My my freaking 1/2 hr gone and i get out of car, walk to the sonic middle nesting ground and polite young man came to the door and inquired how he could help me. Well, i said i placed an app order and haven't had any service. He asked if I was Derek, i said yes, oh we have your order, we'll get it to you right away. He was very good with customer service. Apologized. Good God almighty, tator tots were rubbery, not a happy person and soggy mess in the bag. Had no time to go back and perhaps we could resolve the issue of icky food, 30 min wait. But vroom vroom, I'm going to work, well got a little slip to report to the HR. I did and was let go. So I'm going to be very fair and i didnt want to give stars. But only chance is what I give. Placed a mobile order, did the check in at the stall and the thing popped up on the screen tracking the order. Eventually that went away, but no food. Waited a few minutes just in case, no food came, so I pushed the button. They asked for my name 4 times (it's Ben, not Scheherazade--I think the little connected talking tubes at playgrounds would be more effective), but once we got that established they said it would be right out. So 10 minutes later the Oreo cheesecake shakes came out, soupy enough that they were probably made around the time I placed the mobile order. Also, they did not have any Oreos in them... so took them inside and said hey, these don't have Oreos. And they said yes, they do. And then I ate it anyway because I paid for it, and can confirm that unless the Oreos were vaporized in the mixing process (which I doubt, because the cheesecake "flavor" squirt was very much not mixed in, just in a nice sour puddle at the bottom of the cup, ready to be slurped up my straw), there were no Oreos in it. Not that it matters all that much, but ordering an Oreo cheesecake shake and getting a sour chocolate puddle 25 minutes later was not my favorite fast food experience.
