Going down hill. Stopped by Nicos today for lunch and ordered a carne asada burrito smothered with green chile verde, no rice no beans. What I got was a burrito with rice and beans that I specifically told then I didnt want and the burrito was smothered with about 3 cents worth of green verde sauce with no meat. When I brought up the issue to the guy at the counter he tried to tell me that the extra meat that they try to justify doubling the price with is inside the burrito which is complete nonsense. Anyone who has ever eaten at a mexican restaurant knows smothered means smothered with sauce and MEAT. So they doubled the price, from $7 to $14 by putting 3 cents worth of green chile verde then claiming the meat from the sauce was inside the burrito. I have eaten at Nicos for about 7 years and always had great food but when they try to rob their customers with obvious lies they lost me as a customer. Will never eat there again, ever. It was an obvious and blatant ripoff. The only thing smothered in this purchase was the $7 I got ripped off. Threw it in the garbage can and went to Taco Bell. To recap: A burrito is $7, a burrito with 3 cents worth of green chili verde with no...

Do not come to this place.

It's a hole in the wall, in surprised they are even open.

They do not have AC we went just last weekend and it's super hot in there.

They give you water but no ice.

They give you chips and salsa the chips tasted stale.

We ordered:

Torta de carne asada Carne asada plate. 2 sopes de carne asada plate

The torta (mexican sandwich) the bread was cold and stale and tasted old. The meat had no flavors and it was over cooked.

The carne asada plate was super greasy and small portion for the price.

The sopes were super greasy and tasted stale.

The flour tortillas come from a bag, the corn tortillas are handmade.

The food came out cold, too greasy, and the bread was stale.

Would we come back here?? Absolutely not, and it's a bit overpriced for the 3 meals we paid 40.00 plus tip....

We didnt even take our leftovers because we were so grossed out by everything.

Do not go to this place, you're better off at the taco stand.

The people that rated this place a 5, should really venture out this place is farrrrr from...

Tried for the first time last night, because Red Iguana and Chunga's were too crowded, so thought we'd try here, since we've thought about it, but just haven't stopped before now. It closes at 8pm, prob. because of transients around that area. No worries. They have tables inside, and you sit, to place your order, but pay at the cashier when you've eaten. They have an extensive menu. I got their Friday special, "Smothered Burrito," w/ chicken (you choose your meat) and frankly, it was delicious!—& Huge! Happiness! My husband got a steak Enchilada plate, and it was good too. They give you chips and salsa, and their salsa is spot-on-good. Their nachos are average—Next time we'll ask them to add black beans, which will make them perfect. Next time, we'll try their famous special. Didn't this time— we both just got what we know, but will explore more, next time. Yeah, we'll be back—any place that can make Chile Verde that good— WooHoo! Another Mexican food "thumbs up" to add...

Holy cow! This place is fantastic! I had the tacos plate, two pollo and two asada, and they both had so much flavor, and I would highly recommend getting them if you're trying this place for the first time. The meat was so juicy, with not a chewy or hard piece to be found. The limes provided were also great and I was happy that it came with multiple slices. (Somehow they were also the juiciest and tastiest limes I've ever had.) The food isn't spicy, so, in regards to people saying the food has a lack of flavor? They just don't know how to use the sauces that are provided, or how to add their own hot sauce! These are some of the best tacos in the entire valley. If you're in the area, passing by, or even staying at the KOA next door, make sure to stop in or grab some grub to go! Don't be fooled by this lil restaurants unassuming appearance, as it's food exudes flavor and speaks for itself! Thank you for the amazing food!
