We ordered Goat Rice, beef pasta, sambosa.
Both meat came out cold(like they came out of the freezer). Meat was dry, totally flavorless and looks like it was made 2 days ago. Totally not fresh food. Also meat quantity was really small.
The pasta and rice were lackluster.
Samosas was okay.
The green sauce consistency was iffy.
It definitely looks like the food is already cooked and re-heated for customer.
Everything food-wise was low quality... in comparison to Noor restaurant which was excellent at all level and set the standard for me as far as taste.
I will never eat at Midnimo again! I'm actually feeling nauseous as I type this ( probably from the cold meat I ate)
It sucks the friends I brought had THIS as their first Somalian experience. I'll take them to Noor next time.
Summary: Midnimo is a cleaner restaurant, has comfortable, seat but food is terrible.
Noor: Not as organized, no comfortable chairs but food is flavorful and...
Read moreMy husband and I visited here today was our first time having Somali food and might I say it was delicious and all the reviews were right the food was plenty the people were very nice it was a great atmosphere. Now for the food we both had the lamb shank with the rice and a side of spaghetti with salad and it was all delicious the lamb shank had a seasoning that was just out of this world we enjoyed ourselves. And we want to say thank you to the little Young lady that took the time to walk us through the menu and answer any questions that we had. We also had the milk tea have everyone talks about and yes it is quite delicious as well. I had ordered the lamb soup but forgot about it after I started eating everything else and by that time I was completely full so I will have the lamb soup the next time we are in because we're definitely will...
Read moreI don't understand the low reviews or why this place is not busy compared to Noor and Global Place. It is just as good if not better than Noor, and worlds better than Global. We loved it so much we went 2 days in a row, then went back for breakfast 2 days in a row.
The waslat (lamb shank), both roasted and unroasted (both were amazing, the roasted was my favorite), comes with either pasta (angel hair) or rice (both are good).
KK or kati kati was also good.
The fish sandwich was good but a little bland and too much bread; I think I would get the fish as a platter with rice instead - not that the sandwich was bad, mind you! And the fish was fried perfectly.
Did these as takeout, but I bet they'd be even better fresh out the kitchen in the restaurant.
Also appreciated the complimentary banana and the fact that they remembered me after...
