PSA: If you are craving the absolute worst service in Salt Lake City, go ahead and ask for Jenni Lynn as your server. My friends and I came in for what was supposed to be a fun little breakfast hangout. We picked this spot because TikTok hyped it up as one of the “best” local breakfast places. Biggest lie ever.
We were “greeted” by Jenni Lynn, who looked like we had personally ruined her morning just by existing. From the start, her tone was pure I hate my job and you for being here. The energy was so bad it felt like getting scolded by a mom who is one spilled juice box away from losing it.
The food was completely bland and not seasoned at all, like someone cooked it while actively trying not to care. When we mentioned we were missing pancakes that were supposed to come with our order, she snapped at us and yelled “I ONLY HAVE TWO HANDS!” even though she was the one who had just asked if we needed anything else. After dropping the food, she disappeared and never once checked if we were okay, which honestly might have been a blessing at that point.
To top it off, she upgraded one of our pancakes to the Dubai Chocolate topping without permission. We clearly said we wanted to add one for the table, not upgrade. When we asked about it, she yelled at us again while “explaining” what she did.
And just when we thought it could not get worse, paying the bill turned into a twenty minute hostage situation. It took forever to get our checks back, and when she finally returned, she loudly yelled the names on each credit card across the restaurant like she was calling roll in detention. At that point you could practically feel how much she did not want to serve us.
On top of everything, we could not shake the feeling that we were being treated differently because we are people of color, which made the whole experience even more uncomfortable.
I get that Sundays are busy and I am a server myself, but there is no universe where this level of attitude is acceptable. Worst service. Worst food. Worst vibes.

Read moreNow I know they close at 2:30 pm. My husband and I walked in around 2:15 to this location. I didn't know they closed at 2:30. We thought they closed at 3:00 pm. So we literally had only 15 min to eat as they started taking condiments that I still needed for my toast instead of taking the dirty dishes of the table, so disrespectful. The boy "hostes" I'm assuming he was more attentive than the server. He brought the coffee, knowing the we were the only table at the restaurant you would expect the server would be the only one trying to work for her tip, instead the hostess brought the coffee someone else brought our food, I understand that the employees knowing that their about to close, I wasn't even at the second bite and the server brought us the check, sure that's ok, within less than 5 minutes the server comes back for to pick up the sleeve, not even to check on us, but for the sleve. Within 3 or 4 minutes someone else comes and started taking our condiments if you want to take the condiments at least look at the table and ask to remove the dirty dishes not the condiments as we're still eating. At the end we left 15 after closing, so we only had 15 min to rush and eat, as a courtesy I think the right thing to do is ask the customer that your stablishment was about to close in 15 min and it would of been our choice whether to stay or go somewhere else. And if they care about labor instead of sitting down on their phones, they should have been cleaning or doing something else. See ticket to...
Read moreAppointment in Salt Lake City and wanted some breakfast. Driving around and was looking and came across Penny Ann’s Cafe, this was a pleasure place. It was busy so we didn’t have much choice about seating which we were kind of crowded into a corner by the ice machine but barring that all was made better by the food. The menu is extensive so kind of know what you want lol. Suggest you look at the menu online. I will say everything they brought out to other tables looked good and large plates so bring your appetite too. We ordered a little bit of food that could have feed a whole family. We ordered the short stack of pancakes and should have stopped there lol. 2 could have feed our family but my wife ordered the 3 meat omelette and we could have split that but I wasn’t feeling that so I ordered the country fried steak and it had a lot more than I bargained for. Not that I was ever going to eat all of it. It had 2 eggs and country potatoes covered with gravy. Soooo good.
The service was awesome and the atmosphere was very friendly. People were just waiting until they could get a table. On a better day we would have sat outside on the patio area but it was kind of cold.
We will be back to try it again but we will be more conservative on the...
