So I need to follow up and set the record straight. A few months ago i came to one of my favorite placed that I've been coming to since I was a child. It was a good day for me as I got to hangout with my mom. I made it a point to do Groves market because she loves the crab salad & I of course love the sandwiches. I ordered one sandwich n a crab salad. When I arrived I was given 2 sandwiches. A crab salad sandwich n my sandwich. When I saw the honest mistake. I let them know it's one sandwich n a card salad with ranch. No worries. They took the sandwiches back & a few moments later I was given a bag which I thought had my salad n sandwich. I got pastries n a drink n I left. When I got home n opened the bag. I had my salad I had pastries but no sandwich. I called the store told them whom I was and said I didn't get my sandwich. The young lady said yeah it's right here come on back. Great!!!! I went back they gave me the sandwich n here's where things took a ugly turn. I have nothing but Love n Respect for Jim his son with the dark hair his amazing wife. With that said Jim goes to ring me up & I said I already paid for the sandwich you all forgot to put it in the bag. Jim looked confused and I'm guessing it's his younger son comes n says no we didn't I gave you two sandwiches. Unfazed I agreed but then reminded him that the two sandwiches I sent back because my order was wrong. It was suppose to be a crab salad n my usual sandwich. I said I got the salad "Thinking" my sandwich was inside the bag with my salad. But it wasn't & so I'm here picking up the forgotten sandwich. No big deal. Then the son calls my a liar! Wait what????!!! Look I've been coming here for decades. To say I was shocked at first was an understatement. Did you just call me a liar? No he says. I'm saying you're lying. đł now that pissed me off. You say I'm lying but you're not calling me a liar. We had words I can honestly say the only reason why his son isn't in the ICU is because of the RESPECT I have for Jimmy. I even told Jim as much when I made it home minus the sandwich I left at the store. As I told Jim I don't have to steal from him a 10.00 sandwich. I've been coming there long enough that if i was to fall on hard times I know Jim would give me a sandwich n I'd come pay him when I was able. I Love Groves Market but they will no longer get my business nor my families business. I'm not knock Groves By Any means. However word of advise to Jim you will lose customers if that child of yours is allowed to interact with your customers. He has no business talking to your customers like that UNLESS he witnessed outright theft from your property. As I said I LOVE GROVES MARKET JIMMY HIS WIFE HIS SONS EXCEPT that one. Jimmy your son is going spout off to the wrong person on the right day n he's gonna get delt with. Nip that ASAP. There's a way to handle things then there's his way. His way will cause loss...
Read moreIâve never been here, but decided to try it out based on reviews. I thought the deluxe sandwich sounded good, but didnât want hamâŠ.The boy helping me asked if I wanted the turkey with the same toppings, and I told him whatever was easier for him, I just wanted what was on the deluxe minus the ham, and that seemed like a simple way of ordering. Little did I know, the two teenagersâŠscratch that, the 2 adults in their 20s -30s, were going to be complete a-holes about it. I paid and then waited in the pickup spot for my sandwich, only to hear them talking about my order saying how they hated when people did that. Then, they proceeded to throw out several f bombs. That normally wouldnât bother me since I use the same words, but after insulting me loudly, then carrying on a conversation with words that can be considered disrespectful by a lot of people, is just trashy. You are working and should behave with some class. They finished my sandwich and another guyâs at a similar time, and the guy asked the girl if she could wrap his. I said that Iâd like the same, but the boy just handed me my sandwich. I had already mentioned I was going to save it for later, but he pretended to not hear me when I asked if I could also have mine wrapped or in a bag, so the other customer tried to help. The guy ended up just handing me a box to put it in. By then I felt pretty unhappy with the whole ordeal, so I just took my box of unwrapped sandwich and left after thanking the other customer for his kindness and trying to be helpful. Advice to the 2 young adults making sandwiches: I donât care if you hate your job and are completely miserable, you are getting paid to work. You also donât know who you might be helping. Iâm always on the lookout for people that have extremely good service and skills. I was picked up myself as a teenager working at a Wells Fargo, and it was a life-changing experience for me and taught me an important lesson - treat everyone as if theyâre the most important customer. If you donât get over yourself and treat people with respect and kindness, you wonât ever be anything more than a sandwich maker - nothing wrong with that, but clearly you hate your job enough to treat your customers with such disrespect. Anyway, the sandwich was pretty good, but I prefer the turkey and the service at Jersey Mikeâs. The turkey here was a little more slimy...
Read moreI just realized I've never left a review for this wonderful establishment. They have fed my husband and I for years eating their sandwiches brings us so much joy and one whole sandwich can feed two people easily for two meals. The hot sauce selection is out of this world and all of the workers are so welcoming and kind.
This year for my birthday I decided it was too expensive to have my entire family go to a restaurant so I was hoping to do sandwiches and my husband surprised me and called Grove's to get catering for my birthday and when they said they could do catering I was delighted. Even though they are closed on Sundays they did everything possible to insure everything was fresh for Sunday and ready for pick up Saturday afternoon.
My birthday party was yesterday and everyone was so happy and full from their delicious sandwiches. We got a 7 deluxe sandwiches and all the fixings on the side.
Everything was packed with so much care to make it as fresh as possible. This truly made my birthday even more special because this place means so much to me. We even had leftovers and I got more sandwich today!
I'm sad I didn't get any pictures of the sandwiches but they were enjoyed! I wish them all the best and am so glad that they are such a bright spot in Salt Lake City. Thank you Grove Market and Deli for making my birthday truly special.
I recommend everyone go here, and enjoy a sandwich. Grove's is like tasting a piece of delicious history. The Italian, Corned Beef, and Deluxe are my favorites but all their sandwiches are delicious. They also have delicious pastries from Carol's Bakery as well. If you're sick of paying 14 bucks for Subway or Jersey Mike's come here instead. 14 bucks gets you a gigantic sandwich that you can...
