I found Picnic while searching for new coffee shops in SLC - I am a die-hard fan of one place but wanted to switch it up. I love unique flavor combinations, and ultimately decided to check out Picnic after seeing some interesting combinations on the menu, and I was truly blown away.
Before I get into the food/drinks, I have to shout out the staff here. They've all been so incredibly nice. Everyone I interacted with gave me a smile and spoke in an enthusiastic and kind tone, which was so much more welcoming than some other cafes I've gone to.
I tried the orange blossom honey latte first and loved it. I ordered almond milk, which can be a hit or miss in some drinks, but it was perfect (and no extra charge, amazed!). I ended up going back the next day and they had new options. I got the toasted coconut brown sugar latte and the lemon rosemary latte, which were both great. I can't wait to try the Vietnamese iced coffee next.
I didn't order any food, but let me say - everything looks (and smells) incredible. If you haven't gone to Picnic, you've got to try it out. Beautiful, modern cafe with a chill atmosphere, great food and drinks, and...
Read morePicnic Cafe is one of the best coffee shops in the Salt Lake City area and what I would call a hidden gem close to Liberty Park. It's now one of my favorite places to go to for well crafted coffee and community connection. As someone that's always scoping out the best local SLC coffee shops, this is in one of my top spots. I always come back to Picnic as my first choice when I'm in the area.
This cute coffee shop has both great drinks and bites, including baked goods, bagels, and sandwiches. They use Publik roasters for their coffee and it's good stuff. I recommend their lox bagel and their Vietnamese Iced Coffee with Pandam cream! It is HEAVENLY. The space is small, but the atmosphere is lovely and always clean. When it's warm enough, they also set up their lovely outdoor patio for seating and it's nice for a good brunch visit.
I haven't been to their community events that they host, but I know community blooms here thanks to Christopher, Vi, and the rest of the lovely team. Y'all are the best at Picnic and your hard work shows, and recommend any SLC local or tourist visiting to check...
Read moreThis place is giving “We are Young”. I came here with my boyfriend a while ago. He got a mocha coffee and I got a matcha. The coffee was strong but ok, it was a little different from other coffee I’ve tasted, perhaps it was because of the blend? I’m not sure but it was alright 2.5/10. I was excited to see that they were using matcha bowls and whisks and so I got that, but to my disappointment my matcha wasn’t very bright. It was very light green :/ we were having a book study over by the window and the lighting was nice but the area was very crowded. The music was very obnoxious and it was not very pleasant even with our noise cancelling AirPods… During the last hour we were there they played the same song like 5 times. It was either “Toxic” by Brittney Spears, or “Rich Girl” by Gwen. Love those songs but I couldn’t tell if they were doing it on purpose to get us out or? We weren’t sure what time they closed but after checking the time they closed at 3:00, it was 3:08 when we left. I really didn’t feel like we stayed that late but it just felt...
