I was excited to see a new restaurant in this location and like to support local businesses in my neighborhood but regretted giving them a chance.
We ordered online 90 minutes before closing. We arrived at the time we were told the food would be ready, but had to wait an additional 25 minutes. I appreciate food being cooked fresh, but they need to provide a more accurate time on their website.
The crunch california roll was unpleasantly sweet. The Wasabi it came with was a weird mint green color and very watery.
The general tso chicken combo was overcooked. The chicken pieces were very hard, like they had been in the fryer too long. We ordered the combo and asked for miso soup. I'm not sure what soup we received but it was not miso. It was terrible and tasted like straight oil.
We also ordered the Japanese curry combo. This was also supposed to come with miso soup and it did not. The carrots were undercooked. It also would be nice if the menu listed which vegetables were included. I was not expecting such a large amount of green peppers. The whole dish also lacked any flavor, it really only tasted like oil.
Overall we were disappointed. We threw the food away and made something else. We spent almost $60 including tip for the two combos and one sushi roll, so it was a big...
Read moreThis restaurant operates like a scam — absolutely unacceptable service! Taking my parents here for dinner last night was the worst decision of our entire trip.
1️⃣ Half of our dishes were served, yet we still hadn’t received any utensils. I asked for them three times, but we never got a spoon. In the end, my mother had to get up and grab one herself from the counter.
2️⃣ Throughout the meal, there was zero basic service — no greetings, no refilling water, nothing.
3️⃣ When we finished eating, no one came to give us the bill. I am tired of waiting. I had to physically walk up to the counter and stop a staff member with my credit card to request to pay.
4️⃣ At checkout, I chose to skip the tip, but the server canceled the transaction and told me that if I don’t want to tip, I should go into the kitchen and cook for myself.
5️⃣ The server then took my card and forcibly added a 15% tip, saying that 15% tipping is mandatory at this restaurant.
6️⃣ Lastly, he told me that if I refused to tip, my family and I would have to clean the table ourselves and wash our own dishes before leaving.
The server was a Chinese male with a sharp, angular face (I mention this only for identification — I’m also Chinese, so this is not...
Read moreWe've been coming here for a while but I just went in the bathroom while we're waiting for our order and there's no soap in the men's bathroom.
Not having soap in the bathrooms is a huge red flag for me. No thanks
Update:
Restaurant says that they will keep soap in the bathroom, and it should be noted that if there is no soap in the bathroom that the employees and patrons use, then the cooks are not washing their hands with soap.
If a cook goes into the bathroom to use it, and there's no soap they should alert management or refill the soap themselves. Instead of just going back to the kitchen and cooking food without having sufficiently cleaned their hands as per the law (legally) and (morally) their customers safety.
I'm glad that I went into the bathroom and discovered there was no soap available before we ate the food.
Some people might think this is a little thing, but to me, if the cooks and servers do not have the ability to wash their hands properly, because management is not providing soap then any apology or talk is cheap.
We have been to this restaurant many times, but this supposed minor oversight...
