Shades Brewery and Pub — Restaurant in Salt Lake City

Shades is easily one of the best new pubs around. The food blew me away — way beyond typical pub grub. Every plate was fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. You can tell the kitchen takes real pride in what they serve.

The drinks didn’t disappoint either. Shades has a great lineup of beers, along with a strong cocktail menu and other options to fit whatever you're in the mood for. Everything was poured and mixed just right.

Special shoutout to Luiz, our server, who made the whole experience even better. He was friendly, quick, and knew the menu inside and out. It’s rare to find service that’s both laid-back and on point like that.

If you’re looking for a new spot to eat, drink, and actually feel taken care of, Shades is it. Can’t wait to go back.

I recently visited Shades Tap Room with the hope of trying their new Himalayan Beer, though I was informed it wasn’t quite ready yet since the spot is still getting settled. The atmosphere was great, and I had the chance to chat with someone who seemed to be the owner of Himalayan Kitchen, who was kind enough to give me a tour of the place. The patio area was fantastic, and they’re working on making it dog-friendly, which I’m super excited about! With 50 taps available, I’m already looking forward to coming back, especially to try the Himalayan Beer once it’s available. The brews, food and ambiance are all on point in this new location!!! The atmosphere is roomy with locally made copper countertops and tables that are just the right sizes for hanging out with small or large groups. The menu is stellar with great meaty and vegetarian options. We had the Eggplant Chili, Naan, Margherita Pizza, Smash Burgers and Philly Cheesesteak. Everything was delicious.
