Salt Lake City SLC Foodie Hit List: The Best and Worst Eats

After a quick Costco run this weekend, I stopped by this local boba shop. I’m pretty new to boba. I’ve only had it a couple of times. Space Tea wasn’t too hard to find. I did have a hard time parking because it is on State Street downtown Salt Lake City. I ended up parking on a side street & walking over. The menu was a little confusing to me, probably because I’m so new at this. Staff explained that the milk teas had caffeine in it & the milk blasts did not. I tried the milk tea, brown sugar flavored with boba. I was debating on that one or the coconut one. Both sounded really good. The brown sugar milk tea was really sweet & tasted just like brown sugar! Probably a little too sweet for my preference but it was really good! I learned after that they are able to adjust sweetness levels which is good to know! I loved that this place is decorated for Halloween. Seemed like a cool place for the younger crowd to hangout with several tables & a Photo Booth. The menu is really big & you’re guaranteed to find something you’ll like!

As a boba enthusiast, I am very serious when it comes to finding the best boba in the state. I have officially decided that Space Tea is the #1 best place to get boba in Utah. The atmosphere is adorable, fun, and cozy. The employees go above and beyond to provide the best service. The boba is, of course, absolutely delicious. There are so many tasty, colorful, exciting options to choose from. I have brought several friends and family members here, and all of them have thoroughly enjoyed it. Each time I come here, I have the pleasure of running into Drè, an absolutely stunning goddess who lights up the whole place with her lovely smile. Drè always helps me decide which drink I should get. She has never let me down with her recommendations. She is truly the cherry on top of the already incredible experience I have every time I come here. THANK YOU DRÈ AND THANK YOU SPACE TEA. I LOVE YOU!!!

*UPDATE * After the owner took the time to respond so courteously to my review, I decided to give them another chance. Keera and Indigo assisted me and truly took the time to listen to my previous experience. They went above and beyond to make things right, and I genuinely appreciate their empathy and dedication to great customer service. I also tried the mango sticky rice that’s been trending on TikTok—and it did not disappoint! Thanks to how well these ladies treated me, I’ll definitely be coming back again.

OLD REVIEW I visited this place based on a recommendation that they had great drinks and was looking forward to a good experience—but unfortunately, it didn’t live up to expectations.

When I walked in, I asked for a recommendation, and the girl who helped me was friendly and suggested the “Milky Way,” describing it as similar to a root beer float with soft serve ice cream. However, when I received the drink, it didn’t include any soft serve.

I went back to clarify, and another girl with green hair told me that the first employee didn’t say it came with soft serve, only that it could be added. I ended up paying extra to have it added, hoping that would improve the drink.

Unfortunately, it still didn’t taste good. After just a few sips, I politely asked if I could swap it for something else. The response I received was dismissive—the girl told me, “You drank half of it and didn’t have a problem with it before,” which wasn’t true. I hadn’t even finished a third of it and was only trying to see if the added soft serve would help the flavor.

As a first-time customer, I was really disappointed by both the miscommunication and the customer service. I had high hopes based on the recommendation, but sadly, I won’t...

I used the Photo Booth at this restaurant 5/2/24. It charged me twice and didn’t work once. The girl at the counter said she’d contact the owner of the machine and refund the money. She didn’t. I called her on 5/6/24 to get refunded. She said to call the owner of the machine myself and I asked for the phone number on the machine. Guess what? It’s disconnected. Who could have seen that coming? I called Space Tea back yet again 5/6/24 and a guy answered. He said he’d have to ask the manager and I said, “ok I’ll hold,” and he hung up. Basically, a random photo machine at Space Tea can work long enough to read your card number, but nothing else. It basically stole $11 bucks from me and it’s just the principle of the whole thing. Dear Space Tea, please take the time to either remove the machine, or write a note that says “out of order.” It’s not that hard and it’s good customer service. But please don’t waste my time giving me disconnected phone numbers and empty promises that you’ll refund the charge. It’s actually illegal to just steal money from someone. And then give 3 different messages and 1 hang up when I try to call. Terrible customer service. I guess you’re keeping my money, which is illegal, but please don’t do this to...

I came and got Taiyaki, a macroon, and teas with my Grandma. Then I got the fear of god struck into me. I felt something in my sweatshirt. It was big. I’m positive it came from outside though. Everyone thought I was crazy. I was screaming like a banshee and flapping my arm. So eventually, I took off my sweatshirt when I came to my senses. I would like to say that I had a pajama top on that I had been wearing for days. And I am so sorry to however saw me, I deeply apologize if you are reading this, you might have think you mistook this place for Walmart. Anyway, this nice employee looked at me like the Crackhead I was and I explained to him. He was so sorry. I’m so sorry I didn’t get your name bro, but your real nice. He even gave me an upcoming Oreo Speciality drink though, it’s really good. Like anyone who loves Oreos should get this. Any way, the actual food. Everything is great. Totally going back. Hoping no one recognizes me, cause I looked like I was trying to fly. Anyway totally go there. Been to a bunch of Boba places and this is one...
