I recently attended the sold out American aquarium show. I lived in San Angelo for years and had never actually been to Blaines, boy am I sorry that I didn't go sooner. This place is awesome! The bar is perfectly lit, the atmosphere is nice even before the bands started playing. The staff was all very nice and welcoming. Even at the height of how busy they were, the staff were all professional and got me what I needed. The prices are definitely in point too, because I feel like I drank more than I paid for, but when I looked over the bill the price really was just that reasonable! There are a few seating areas based on the level of involvment youre willing to put in with whatever entertainment is going on. There are also pool tables and places for sitting away from the move entertainment if you're so inclined. Overall I'll definitely be coming back here whenever I'm...
Read moreThis place has history and no visit to San Angelo is complete without stopping in this place a time or two. It’s a cool dive bar with great Texas music on most Friday and Saturday nights.
It’s on the smallish side with an even smaller parking lot, but it’s “Blaine’s Pub” so just get over that folks - but plan on Ubering or walking a bit to get there.
Why do you want to hang out here? I’ll tell you.
They open at 7am - I’m NOT joking! $2.50 longnecks and a full bar. Madison at the bar is AWESOME and will take care of you. A side room with two pool tables. Last but certainly not least, they have an indoor bathroom, LOL! They even brag about it on their sign out front.
Jack Ingram, a young Pat Green, and many more big artists played here before they blew up the Texas music scene scene, and they still get some good bands here, so make it a...
Read moreI don't have anything to compare it to yet, but definitely seemed like San Angelos more younger version of Cheers. Most patrons seemed to know each other. There was a mix of ages which was good to see, but it was still probably about 50-70% in the age range of 21-25.
A lot of live music is offered on the weekends which is nice. On the other hand, be aware that if you decided you would play it smart and check the website to see if there was a cover charge, it is likely lieing to you. Checked the website, said cover charge was $5, nice! Entered the establishment and was charged $10. Even mentioned the website is falsely advertising the cover charge, guy just said, "yeah, I don't know, no one tells me anything. It's actually $10 though." Slightly/momentarily hindered...
