I took my mother for dinner and we sat ourselves in the bar. After ten minutes, I got up and asked a hostess why no one had taken our orders. She said we sat somewhere that didn't have a server (which isn't my problem since there isn't a sign that said only part of the bar was self seating and we weren't told of that before we sat down) but Zachery was standing right there and said he'd take our order. I ordered a drink called Wedding Cake, which was pictured with whip cream and chocolate chips. When I got my drink, there was no whip cream or chocolate chips. When we placed our drink orders, we also place our meal orders and I placed my dessert order. I did that so that there wouldn't be a gap between my meal and my dessert. Not once during our meal did anyone check on us to see how it was. Ten minutes after I'd pushed my plate aside, the server came over and my mom told him she was going to smoke and he told me he would be right over with dessert and to go boxes. My mom was able to have a cigarette and sit back down for ten minutes before I got tired of waiting and told the hostess to find him and tell him to cancel dessert and to just bring the check. A minute after I sat down, he came over with dessert and I told him that he had taken too long and that I was no longer interested in dessert. He then said "I was doing you a favor by taking this table. This isn't even my section". I told him that it wasn't my fault. He should have taken my drink order and then given it to the server who was in charge of the section I was in. He rudely dropped the dessert that I told him to take away and he walked away. A minute later, I noticed that he had grabbed a 100 dollar bill I had given to my mother. I've never been to a restaurant where they have taken money off of my table without asking and without showing me a check first. A few minutes after he walks away, a manger comes up and asks what the problem is. As I'm explaining to him, he doesn't seem to grasp any of the concepts that I am explaining then told me I was being rude and stormed off. Then the server came back with the check (this was my first time seeing a bill) and change from the 100 dollar bill he stole from my table. I noticed that I was charged for the dessert that I told two separate people I no longer wanted. I am a server trainer at a restaurant and I will use this as an example of how a server should NEVER act and I will make it a point to tell this story to anyone who...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreFirst time visiting My husband took me here for dinner and hyped the food (he already ate here like 5 or 6 times during lunch hours). We got there, the server was nice.
But the food was definitely frozen and reheated. I ordered the ribs and chicken combo. The ribs were definitely old and reheated. I know exactly what they were because I worked in a place that literally only served variations of ribs. I know the taste of fresh pork and reheated pork. The chicken was dry and overall tasteless except for the sweetness of the glaze (too sweet for anyone's taste frankly). My sides were brought in at different times, but maybe our server was busy or whatever. Didn't matter.
My husband ordered a steak medium rare - now imagine the sole of a workboot after it's been dragged through mud. That's the color on it. Literally looked like grey mud. It looked almost boiled. Completely unappetizing. His sides was a loaded potato that lacked even the little bit of salt on it to give it some kind of taste and corn off the cob which I tasted and it was basically canned corn thrown in a little bowl (even had the salt water in it still).
Since we were still hungry after not being able to actually eat our food, we ordered the chocolate fudge cake sundae. Well, holy smokes, I'm glad we did. It was good and gigantic. We actually ate that and fell full.
Bottom line, I'm never coming back here. It was not worth it and I'm not even a fussy eater, but this was legitimately bad because they say it's fresh food and it JUST WAS NOT FRESH. Maybe I will only drop by to get a slice of...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIf your idea of a family meal is to sit down next to a table full (8 to be exact) of unsupervised children from the ages of about 4 to 12 reaching across the walls and speaking inappropriately while their mothers ignore them and drink painkillers at a completely separate table, then this is the dining establishment for you!
Oh and don't dare ask the staff to get involved. The manager could only be bothered to come out after one of these moms tried starting a fight with one of our children. Pointing and screaming in her face because she told the mother what the kids were doing and saying. But she didn't even come out because of that. She came out because we asked for a manager. We had to ask for someone.
The response we got, was "we don't discriminate against anyone so we can move you if you'd like".
What?!?! A drunk woman is yelling at our child and you will move US so you don't upset these belligerent diners who came in not only after us, but are completely out of control. We didn't even get to finish our dinners because of the hostility from this group and we didn't get any sort of response or resolution from the management.
We will never dine at this Cheddar's again.
I will say the wait staff did apologize. Even the ones who weren't our servers. They all came around and apologized to us like they could somehow make it up to us. I felt awful for them because you could tell they felt bad they couldn't do anything about...
