Ok, so I go to 7brew a lot and I absolutely love it... most of the time. I am giving 3 stars because I know how great this place is despite my last 2 visits.
Night visit - I was sitting (2nd car in line) excitingly waiting to get a strawberry green tea with my little one. I was already sitting there for a bit longer than usual when a group of girls walk up and stand behind me in line (yes walk up, and yes it's cold). This is when an employee came out, waved really big to them, and another came out to take their order. This was Followed by them being ushered up to the front and 8 orders being taken in front of mine. Now I am totally ok with waiting this long (I was in line for 25+ min) if the circumstances were different
1- If the line was relatively long to begin with I would expect longer wait times... 2- If the person in front of me had a large order... they got 2 drinks and were gone in 5 or so minutes. 3- If I had a way to get out of line if I was in a hurry... 1 car in front of you is not usually an long wait, but I couldn't leave even if I wanted to. 4- And last but not least... why couldn't they just asked me if I had time or if I minded waiting for them since they were on foot... I'm not completely heartless... the answer would have been "Sure no problem" or "Actually, I can just get coffee some other time. Do you mind moving that cone so I can get out I was kinda in a hurry." Neither one of these answers I feel are unreasonable.
Next morning visit- Not a big rant, but if your not busy please don't rush your customers with sighing or make them feel uncomfortable for getting their kids something too. It was 6 drinks not 20! I knew exactly what they wanted and was ready by the time...
Read moreUpdated review (Jan 2024): I saw both lanes open so stopped in to grab a seasonal chai latte. I was able to order and get my drink in about five minutes - a much better experience than my previous visits. Thanks for keeping things moving, I look forward to coming back more frequently! 👍
Original review (Dec 2023): The coffee is great and the baristas are so nice! However, I get the impression that management isn't paying attention to the busy times of the store and therefore isn't staffing appropriately to meet the demand. I've decided not to stop for coffee at least three times because the line always seems long and only one of the two lanes is open. I decided to stop in tonight despite the long line and only one lane open, and the three staff were clearly working so hard to keep up (and with smiles the whole time!!) but I waited for twenty minutes before I was able to place my order. That's way too long to wait for coffee. With Starbucks opening a location down the road, 7Brew needs to figure out how to keep the line moving or risk people passing them by in favor of a coffee shop that knows how to serve quickly.
Three staff on shift might be appropriate for the slowest periods, but that's how many were on shift tonight for what was clearly a rush. I'm so tired of seeing lean staffing like this - not only for the poor customer experience, but also because it's a horrible experience as a staff member when customers get upset at them for not being able to keep up with a rush. Again, the staff are GREAT and doing everything they can to keep up, and wearing a smile the whole time. Management needs to add staff for busy times or be there themselves to help the staff...
