The Parrot's Head Tavern — Restaurant in San Angelo

Favorite bar in the city. Outdoor area with bags/cornhole, free pool tables, amazing bar food (I had the fries and mozzarella sticks— both were 10/10).

Special shoutout to Corbin, one of the bartenders. Chill dude. He cut me off - which has never happened to me -but was super chill about it. I don’t think I was making any huge scene or anything crazy, but he was just very attentive and pretty positive he just noticed I had purchased several drinks in a short timeframe—special shoutout to JamesonGingerAles - whatever ginger ale they use is FIRE—and just knew that it was going to hit me later. Honestly, even I was planning to slow down and just went to order a beer, but he was chill about it, closed my tab, and offered me a water. Nice place to hangout & has a jukebox that you can request songs and sometimes your song choices get chosen to play, but one day I ordered a shot, then got back in line bc a friend wanted to buy me a shot, but then the bartender thought I was drunk! I only had 1, So I left mad at the bartender & walked home. I understood why I was told to leave, because I couldn't stand still waiting in line & my reaction could be confused for drunkenness so I understand why the staff erred on the side of caution that night. When I look back on my 1st experience here over 5 years ago now, I think I'll give this place another chance since more of my friends have been here since I went here years ago & now I have a somewhat older friend working here so he might understand what's going on with me if I was to order...

I don’t know why people think this place is so great...went for happy hour at 3:30 p.m. There were only 10 other people in the place. Bartender was rude, drinks were weak (their margarita on the rocks is terrible...), and it took us asking three times to get our appetizers. We were told that she needed to pre-heat the oven...does it take 1 hour for an oven to pre-heat? Because that’s how long it took for us to get the appetizers. And the appetizers were pizza rolls (which were legit Totino’s pizza rolls) and frozen Tyson chicken nuggets. The atmosphere inside is fine, but that’s not why I go to a bar. If the drinks aren’t good, what are you doing? Unless you’re a broke ASU student and looking for a good time for cheap, do yourself a favor and try...
