San Anselmo Gelato — Restaurant in San Anselmo

Have always loved this place and the Gelato. The Hispanic person manning the place was extremely rude. Our visit was Monday aug 8th. We rushed over from Tierra Linda to get there before they closed. Walked in at 8:15pm. The door was open the Neon open sign was lit, and this guy says we are closed. I gave him our order and he reluctantly prepared it. A mom and her daughter walked in right after we did and he told them we were the last customers. They pleaded with him and he nastily told them to leave. I felt like dumping our ice cream on the floor and walking out. The flavor and experience were ruined for us. Would love to chat with the owner and alter my review. I feel horrible for the business and it’s owner that this is the service experience we must settle for; in order for the owner to take some well deserved time for...

Don’t even remember the taste of the ice cream. Spanish guy that works there was soo rude to us it ruined the whole experience. When we came to the shop it was closed( door was locked during business hours) and the guy that works there came out of the car and was yelling at us because we pulled the door “ the door is broken don’t pull it, don’t touch the door I said!” Then he opened the door and literally pushed kids out of the shop because he needed to enter and take some time there without us. He was upset because we didn’t know what flavor we wanted right the way( there were eating of us) I understand it’s post Covid and everyone is short on staff but it doesn’t mean staff should be rude to customers. One of the good Gelato to have

Small shop in a very beautiful San Anselmo town.

It was a drizzling afternoon and we just had our lunch. We had been talking about Italy and gelatos over lunch and while we were returning back to car we found the shop and couldn’t resist ourselves.

We ordered chocolate gelato and started to speak to Uncle who served us. He was so good to talk to and it just made our day.

I would love to go back just to meet him again :)
