We are going to start with the bad, and then go to the good. So please read the whole review...
On our first visit to this new Arby's, the first thing we noticed was the noise level coming from the teenage employees chatting behind the counter. The young man that took our order was polite, but looked impaired, (not joking), leaned against the wall for support while he took our order, and had difficulty focusing on what he was doing. We had to clean a table so we could sit, as all of the tables, and the floor, were dirty. After cleaning our table and chairs, I went to the woman's restroom to wash my hands. The restroom appeared poorly maintained and was also dirty. The condiment station was broken and malfunctioning, and the area was dirty, as was the drink station. The drive thru girl, and another female employee, nearly knocked us over in their attempt to reach the condiment station, reaching over us from both sides, to fill containers with sauce. Ignoring us completely, they continued to talk to each other about personal business, not bothering to even say "sorry" or "excuse me". I believe we didn't have to wait to long for the food, and I think it tasted okay, but by that time, I was so mad, I just wanted to leave.
Furthermore, the design of the building and the parking lot are unfortunate. The layout is strange, with the food counter and bathrooms take over 1/2 of the building. The seating area is uncomfortable, as no matter where you sit, someone has to walk by you to get to the trash, to come in/leave, or to get to the condiment bar/drink area. I believe the food came in a timely manner, but I was so angry by that time, I just wanted to leave. Do not remember anything about the food, as I was just too mad.
The parking lot is shared by AT&T and is very small and chopped up in the most peculiar way. The drive-thru comes out right at the entrance/exit, which is an accident waiting to happen. The majority of the parking is located on the AT&T side of the building. However, there is a fence decorative fence in front of it, so you have to walk all the way around the building, in the traffic, rather than being able to walk next to the building on the safety of a sidewalk. This is a brand new building, built from the ground up, with no obvious reason for this poor design. As this is a new franchise, perhaps this is the new way Arby's is building their stores. If so, Arby's you need to redesign.
On our second visit to this new Arby's, most tables appeared clean. However, the noise level was still high from chatting employees. The young man that took our order changed my attitude towards this restaurant, which is why I am giving it three stars, rather than one. The young man's name was Demaria, (not sure of spelling, but if I am remembering correctly, it is pronounced De-Mar-E-A). What he lacked in finesse, he made up for in charm and genuine customer service. He keeping us smiling during the ordering process and is the SOLE reason I will go there again.
Our order was served in a reasonable amount of time. The young man that brought the food to us asked us if we needed anything. The sandwiches were bursting with meat, and everything was hot and tasty. Condiment dispenser was fixed and working, and the area was clean and tidy, as was the drink area.
After taking all the orders, Demaria, (I'm sure I am misspelling this/please forgive), was quick to come out to the main area and clean tables, while stopping to ask each client if there food was okay, or if they needed anything. He seemed very motivated and was a very hard worker. Please Arby's, do your best to keep this one or someone is going to snap him up.
Meanwhile, I recommend a few surprise visits by an adult supervisor, to calm the "party" atmosphere and bit closer to a business atmosphere, rather than...
Read moreHorrible experience tonight. After waiting an extra 10 minutes for items to cook, my order was given to another car who held the order in their car until the employee realized his mistake. He retrieved the order and within 30 seconds brought it to my car. I asked him what was being done to sanitize the food since it had been in another person’s car and he told me that it had been re-bagged. I was already in a rush so I took the food and left. After I got home, I realized I had been shorted a sandwich so I called the store. No answer, only a busy signal. Drove back to the store and 45 minutes after I originally ordered, the manager gave me the missing sandwich and said that she could not credit back any funds. All she could do for me was to give a voucher for a free sandwich. At this point I was done with the experience and took the voucher so I could return to what was left of my cold dinner. It wasn’t until after I drove off that I realized the voucher had expired 4 years ago! Some customer service!? I’m not usually the one to create a scene, but I am baffled by the lack of protocol when it comes to dealing with contamination and rectifying a situation. Their dining area is closed to stop the spread of germs, but beware the drive thru is possibly...
Read moreAngel makes hunter treated me with dignity and respect after I realized I left my ATM card at home. I only had $5 on me. I can't get into detail but I will say that he did not make me feel bad about myself or like an outsider for not having my card with me. This is a kind soul who deserves to be recognized... The food was hot and delicious my milkshake was cold.. I got the sweet potato fries for the first time . They were okay but the slider was the best. Thank you Arby's for hiring such a wonderful person. It's hard to find good customer service people these days. You did a great job period and thank you Hunter for being so wonderful! I cannot express that enough is there a not enough people like you in...
