Bandera Jalisco — Restaurant in San Antonio

I wish I could give Bandera Jalisco zero stars.

This use to be our favorite Jalisco on Nacogdoches. Now its the worst. Once upon a time, this Jalisco had the best food and the best staff. We went their so often, we knew the staff by name and they knew our entire family.

Then suddenly, there was a change. They had the worst food and the rudest staff. We have not been in there for well over a year. However, we heard there had been another change , so we decided we would give it another try. Big mistake.

First of all, let me state the staff was great, service was fast and coffee was strong, (which is good for me). However the food was horrible. Now it wasn't like we ordered something complicated, nor am I that picky. I am on a special diet, so I can choke down just about anything. Plus, this morning, we were headed off to an appointment and knew would not be able to eat again for some time. We chose to starve rather than eat the food we were served.

I ordered three scrambled eggs and my husband two egg and cheese tacos. Not sure how they managed it, but plastic taste better than what we were served. My eggs were a greasy, zero taste mess. Even the grease didn't have flavor. No salt, no spice, no nothing. And the eggs were a strange consistency, almost like foam. Hard and flat with zero taste. My husband's tacos were the same eggs were not eggs and gross tortillas.

We explained the issue to the gal at the register. She offered to call the manager. We refused, paid the money and tipped our waitress as it is not her fault the cook should be fired. Plus, we considered the money a donation so the manager can afford to hire a decent cook. We blame the management for this issue, as he or she should be sampling what is served. I would pay big money to watch him or her eat the whatever that was on our plate. It certainly wasn't egg. Like I said, I can choke down the worst diet food without blinking an eye. Yet, my dog would not have eaten this.

There are several Jalisco's on Nacogdoches. Until the cook improves his or her skills and they start serving real eggs, I highly recommend avoiding Bandera Jalisco. But don't believe me. Read past the paid, one or two word reviews and read the rest of...

Went to this location this morning and ordered two carne asda tacos for my husband. When i get to the window she asks me if i had a bacon and egg so i say no i have two carne asda and she says the one with gravy-I say I don't know carne asda she says yes the one with gravy, so I asked that is carne asda taco she says yes. Well turns out when i get home my husband says that is not the taco. But when i go back I tell her i am not very happy and ask do carne asda even come with gravy and she says NO so i said then why would you give that to me and she says I asked you. I said yes and i said i don't know carne asda. But you should know if i say carne asda and it does not come with gravy why would you even ask me that. No I am sorry, she just says I asked you and i don't want to argue. I will let everyone know how you get treated there ... not that it matters to you. I can see that with the attitude i got. And i told my husband i will never go there again. Like i said it does not matter to you but "i am sorry" goes a long way. Guess you have enough customers...

As of today 11-11-23 the menu on the drive-thru board showed $8.99 for pork chop & egg plate. I was told at the window it was $10.81. I give my card and the receipt shows $11.13. I mentioned the amount on the board. She said, the amounts have changed and the owner hasn't made those changes and apologized. She asked if I would like an itemized statement. I said yes and she gave me one. As I left I noticed it was $9.99 and totalled to $10.81. At this point I had to go inside to let them know I was charged $11.13. It was explained that there is a card charge. If I'm given an itemized statement it should list ALL charges. The lady indicated that there is a sign on the drive-thru window, where there is a mess of stickers all over it to camouflage what people really need to be informed of. And yet the menu amounts (for a long time) have not been charged. False advertising....Bad business...People should know what is going to be charged before they...
