Shipley Do-Nuts — Restaurant in San Antonio

Let me first say I ordered these donuts days in advance online to be ready in the afternoon. I assumed with the amount of time given to have them ready, they would have been prepared enough to make them look presentable. I was so very wrong and very disappointed. The glazed donuts didn’t look so bad which is why I gave 2 stars, but the donuts with icing/sprinkles looked like they had a child make them with finger prints and a tiny amount of sprinkles. I had my husband pick them up and take a picture before he left. When I received the picture I was livid and of course had to call to complain because my husband refused to complain. The lady did not understand that all I wanted her to do was replace the few that were really bad and provide better looking ones. She did end up hanging up on me and told my husband she would just refund us the money. It all worked out for us in the end because we rushed to Dunkin’ Donuts and ordered the same amount of donuts and they had them ready in 10 minutes. The donuts here are very fresh and yummy, the service however is a different story. I came in on a previous Sunday and a young lady with dark hair braided into pigtails, with an earphone in helped me and she was very rude. I chalked it up to her having a bad day since I work in the industry and understand life happens. However, when I returned this Sunday she was again, being rude with an attitude but this time to the kind young lady who was helping me at the register. I could tell the girl helping me was flustered by her comments and I don’t believe anyone should have to deal with hostile coworkers when just trying to make a living, it left a really bad taste in my mouth. Visit this this location is I was on this side of town for a meeting. I usually frequent the one on huebner close to USAA or Wurzbach close to the colony. These particular donuts seemed overcooked to me and perhaps this is the way this location makes them. But they had a notable crunch to them which again I've eaten a lot of Shipley's donuts in these seemed a bit overcooked and dried to me. But looking at the photos it's the exact same ones I got so again maybe it's a regional thing for this side of town. The other thing is they didn't glaze a lot of their donuts.
