Los Balitos Taco Shop - Nacogdoches — Restaurant in San Antonio

It is my first visit to Los Balito’s Taco Shop on Nacogdoches Rd. I stop in at the drive thru and order a Beef Fajita Burrito. I am greeted at the window by a dapper gent with an amazing mustache, pay $10 and change, wait a bit and am then handed my bag of food. I arrive back at work and dump the contents out onto my desk and find the burrito, a plastic fork, and one each red and green salsa. I unwrap the burrito and my mouth starts to salivate at the sight of the toasted hand-made tortilla. I unfold the burrito to apply the red salsa and find glistening grilled beef fajita, green bell peppers and onions, avocado, and some gooey cheese. I fold it back up and tear into it. The tortilla is warm, toasted and soft but perfectly up to the task of keeping the burrito together. The generous slices of bell pepper and onions caramelized on the grill add the perfect counter to the tender beef. Nothing here was amazing. The service and the food was mediocre but not bad. The burritos were huge and stuffed with meat. What I didn't like was that they were stuffed with meat but really only meat. I ordered the carnitas burrito. I added rice and beans. They forgot to add the guacamole and Pico de Gallo. It was very dry. I ordered a chile relleno a la carte. The gravy on top is what they use for enchiladas and it was not good. It tasted almost like a bland hot dog chilli. The sour cream was stiff and not creamy. I wouldn't order that again. My husband ordered a beef fajita burrito and also added rice and beans. He had the same complaint. It was very dry. EAT AT LOS BALITOS DEZAVALA, THEY TREAT YOU SO BETTER AND THE FOOD IS BETTER!!! If I could give them no stars I would!! This particular restaurant is the worst out of the entire chain. I ordered mini tacos with corn tortillas (can’t eat flour) and a lemonade online. When my food was delivered they didn’t have my lemonade. I reached out the the online ordering service after calling the restaurant, as they advised. They stated they couldn’t issue my refund because I didn’t bring my food back. They also asked for a picture of my missing drink. I was advised by the Chow Now (they weren’t helpful either) to call the restaurant back.
