Lennys Grill & Subs — Restaurant in San Antonio

I'm a total sandwich person, so excited to try this place since it is next to my house. Went in to order, Ordered an American Club, turkey, ham, bacon, provolone cheese. Lenny's way totally. It was after work I was starving and so excited when I got home, the Meat, ok, but 2 pieces of cheese, I did order the largest sub...ok but after a couple bites, it was so dry, no dressing, no Mayo and covered with raw onions, more onions then lettuce. 2 thin slices of bacon that covered half the sub. SMH, I had to add my own Mayo, seasoning, dressing, put my own lettuce on I had at home. Take off most of the onions, ruined my whole appetite, such a disappointment. You can't even stand there and watch them make your sub and say yes to this no to that, I go to sandwich shops and the best part is watching my sub being made. There was 1 person in the shop sitting waiting for their order as well. Not worth a $15 sub, waste my time, just handed my order, no friendly face or smile. I'll stick to Jersey Mike's!! The restaurant is under new ownership/management and my lovely wife and I ate there today. I always have the same thing (Philly Cheesesteak) and today's sandwich was noticeably better than the previous experiences. The issue with the wrong sales tax has been fixed. I will definitely be back. Highly recommended.

Previous visits: The sales tax charged for my sandwiches was just above 9%, when it should be 8.25%. Owner - please verify the cash registers are correctly programmed. Total bill: $24.78, sale tax: $2.29.

The restaurant is fine, the service was fine, the quality of the sandwiches was good (I had the Philly Cheesesteak, and my wife had the Turkey Bacon Avocado). The pricing was just a tad on the high side (personal opinion). There are tables so you can dine in. If you're looking for a "sub type" sandwich, this is a good choice. The LEMONADE omg. It’s the best I’ve had from a chain. It’s a true “ade” in that it is watered down enough to be truly refreshing - it’s neither too sour nor too sweet. It’s perfect. The two women who helped me out today were super helpful in answering questions about the rewards program, very knowledgeable both of them. They prepared our orders very efficiently and exactly as we specified. They’re friendly and good at their jobs! Treat them well. It’s hard to find service like that’s just anywhere! The food is pretty good, the hot dog hit the spot, and I can tell they use quality ingredients.
