In a time in our history when we are continually watching unemployment numbers skyrocket, it is utterly shocking to see a place that cannot keep up with the demand due to lack of staff. I used to brag about how the BK by my house was the best ever but please allow me to share why I will never patronize BK again- in any location. This evening, after a long day of work, my family opted for some FAST food. We placed our order using the BK app only to learn that ordering via the app still requires you to go through the drive thru (I have attempted to swing by BK a few other times recently and the line is always atrocious) BUT I decided to give this app a try anyway. I placed my order at 6:03pm, I promptly headed to the drive thru and arrived at 6:12pm, please bear in mind my CARD HAS ALREADY BEEN CHARGED FOR MY MEAL. There were 6 visible cars ahead of me (perhaps others at the window that I could not count) but I was hopeful this would be relatively quick. I proceeded to wait for 40 minutes to arrive at the ordering screen to let them know I was here to pick up my mobile order. Before I could speak, the drive thru attendant notified my that there would be 20-30 minute wait ahead of me. Now, typically I would just kindly ask for a refund and get out line. BUT this place is designed with concrete curbing so that, despite the warning about the wait, you are stuck. Why bother telling me? Honestly... I cannot do anything about it. So, I alerted them that I had ordered online and I wanted to be sure my meal had not been waiting for 40 minutes, they assured me that it was not. I asked if there was any way to get out of the line, perhaps asking folks to "pull around" like I have been asked to do so many times before at this very location. I was told this was not possible. At this time, a woman jumps on the speaker and defensively states "We are just trying to let you know"--- OBVIOUSLY I know that. I am trying to let you know that I am not going to wait for 20-30 additional minutes. She essentially tells me "too bad". I let them know I want my order cancelled and I will wait to exit the line. My refund has still not been issued and I did, in fact, wait an additional 20 minutes just to exit the line with no food (yes, I could have gotten the food but I want my refund more than whatever garbage they planned to serve to me). I finally pulled out of the line at 7:06pm! 6 minutes shy of any hour for FAST FOOD. Burger King is not gourmet cuisine, their whole scheme is to deliver food quickly and they have failed miserably and, to top it off, they have also failed at keeping up with the curve that EVERY OTHER restaurant has figured out during this time- HOW TO DO CURBSIDE, APP-BASED ORDERING. And lastly, their management should be fired and replaced with competent individuals which I am certain there are 1,000s of qualified San Antonians looking for work right this very moment. If you want FAST food, go elsewhere. There are plenty of other...
Read moreThe food here is great, the problem is you have to wait almost an hour to get it. It doesn't matter if you're coming when its busy or when it's slow, or if there's no one in the store you're going to wait an absorbent amount of time for your food, even if there's multiple people working and you're constantly going to hear sorry for the wait.
The wait staff is incredibly nice and friendly but it's absolutely insane that even after a year they still can't get your food out in under 20 to 30 minutes when it's slow, and upwards of 45 minutes with a handful of people in the lobby. They will constantly take care of the drive-thru in front of people in the store even if their orders are behind them. They make each order of fries per customer order. They don't drop a large amount of fries so there are plenty ready and cook a lot of meat so there are plenty ready. They drop fries individually per order so you have to sit there and wait for every single person to finish before yours is ready. I know what you're thinking, this makes it fresher. Fast food doesn't work like that. You drop baskets of fries so that you have lots ready, you drop multiple meat patties so multiple are ready within the hour.
Then they will come to the lobby and ask you for your receipt to see what your order number is since they forgot and passed you up, and rush back to the kitchen to try to figure out why your order isn't out. Then, when your food is prepared, they'll yell "order up" but not the number, so no one knows who they're calling. If you ask for dine-in they'll give it to you in a to go bag because they either forgot it's dine in, or they are hoping customers take it and leave I assume.
This entire restaurant chain needs new upper management to train lower management to train location staff on how to take care of customers, to clean their restaurants, and prepare food in a timely manner. This is not only this location that has this issue. This is just the closest location to my house, but they all seem to be this...
Read moreWe came to the 1604 and Culebra location . As I walked in there was ice all over the floor in the ordering area. There were two older ladies waiting for their food. There were 5 employees on the other side of the counter not doing anything about the ice and now water in the floor. The counter tops and drinking area was disgusting! There was also no ice. As we tried looking for a clean table there was no where to sit. Only one family in the sitting area and tables were beyond disgusting. Floor was horrible there was hole in the ceiling. We had already ordered our food so it was too late to leave. With small children you tend to start freaking out about how dirty everything is. So I asked a tall Hispanic younger man for a towel to clean my table. He was nice enough to go out and clean it for us. As we were ordering the cashier gave my husband attitude she at one point told him “I asked you what do you want to drink!” My husband then asked for 2 value drinks and the cashier charged him for small drinks which cost 2 dollars each. I went up to her to address the issue and without an courtesy she advised, “no! He ordered small not value drinks!.” She then turned around. Very sad customer service As we started eat they put Reggaetón music very explicit music if you ask me. Starts talking about how they are going to have intimacy. Keep in mind I have my 10 year old with me. We had to stop only because we needed a quick bite before approaching our destination. Never again will we visit this location. The tall young man was nice enough to say thank you when we left. He was probably the only employee that was putting any effort...
