Church's Texas Chicken — Restaurant in San Antonio

2nd time at this location. Both times were a bad experience. First time I couldn’t order ahead and then when I got there after sitting at the drive thru for a bit they came on and told me to come inside because the drive thru wasn’t working. No sign posted or anything, just let people pull up and wait.

This time I was able to order ahead. Pulled up to the drive thru and someone came on the speaker and told me to wait. Sat for a minute and then they came back and asked how they could help, told them I placed a mobile order and he asked if I could come inside. I told him I placed a mobile order to prevent coming inside, but complied and drove around. Parked and went in and they were finishing an order for someone at the counter and then he looked at me, turned and walked away without even speaking. Came back to the counter and asked how he could help and I told him I had a mobile order and he said oh ok, here it is. And it was in an insulated bag on the counter. 1.) that could have just as easily been handed to me in the drive thru by the attendant standing at the drive thru register window playing on his phone NOT helping a single person while I was inside AND 2.) someone else could have asked how they could help me while I stood there waiting.

The food was ok, fries were cold, but other than that there are no complaints. It wasn’t the best I’ve ever had, but the chicken was descent.

There is no food worth poor service. OH and I requested sauces and of course I didn’t get a single one in my bag. It’s pretty bad that a simple order cannot be read off an ticket and processed correctly. And it wasn’t due to being busy, there was no one else in the drive thru and 3 people in the lobby. 2 of which were already eating their food! And I saw at least 4 employees.

I go to a church’s near where I work and the food is always fresh, always right and I’ve never had any issues. This one either needs a whole new staff or just a new manager willing to crack the whip and accept nothing less than exceptional service.

On October 16,2022 After work we decided to have dinner at Churches on Marbach Rd near John Jay. We were very disappointed, the employee on registered was having a hard time locating items on register, couldn't really hear us. We had to keep repeating because their music was playing so loud. While at register, one of their employees walked to other register with his zipper down, pants hanging off showing his boxers. We mentioned to him his fly was open, and manager gave us thumbs up. She should have corrected his appearance, not us. We ended up paying close to $30.00 on 2 breast, 2 mashed potato, 2 mac and cheese, and biscuits. The mashed potato was so hot it burned the roof of my mouth, mac and cheese was disgusting, it was mushy, and didn't look right, and the biscuits were hard as rocks. We called and complained to headquarters, then this evening about 730, the manager calls me at home and practically called me a lier and was talking over me, and still trying to give me more mac and cheese. I went there today after school, and an African American thin woman took my order. I ordered 6boneless wings and medium sized fries w/ drink. Okay so we sat and waited for my order. 12minutes pass and people's orders before me and after me were getting their food. So I go up there and asked how much longer till I get my order. They said they never saw the order up on the screen and I had a receipt for proof. They took my receipt and said it will take about 2-3minutes. It took 10minutes. Then they gave the wrong sauce with 5pieces. So I took the order back and talked the woman calmly and respectfully. I told her I ordered buffalo and they gave me BBQ. She turned back to an employee and asked "Did you make BBQ or Buffalo for the order of wings?" She answered BBQ.
