I love oysters, especially rockefeller,Fried or baked. This was a very BIZARRE experience. Being a server myself for 20 yr ,I do expect quality food, great service, especially when it's $15-$28 just for appetizers! Meaning, decent portions and properly cooked. It was just myself and my son ,we were the only customers. Our female server who was training a male server, didn't introduce herself or mention her trainee. When asked what we'd like to drink I said water .She had this look on her face, like "Oh one of those" .I saw that look from fellow servers I worked with, judgemental thinking they won't get a good tip. I never thought that of my customers. I told her we had an early breakfast and just wanted appetizers( this was at 11a.m.) Again that look! My son ordered the calamari and I ordered 6 pc baked oysters with parmesan cheese and garlic sauce. Victoria, our server( I asked her name) brought my sons his calamari first instead of serving us both at the same time. I tried a bite of his calamari, very rubbery, no flavor. I'd compare it to trying to chew a wide rubber band!! So he didn't complain, he's 17(he got 6 pieces) Then he waited the 15 min till I got my oysters($16) I got 6 tiny little shells ,not the norm you get in other restaurants and the oysters were dime size with a very thin layer of cheese lying in watery garlic sauce which I had to drink from the shell, no spoon given.Seeing other customers photos of oysters on LARGE SHELLS ,I EXPECTED mine to be that size with a decent amt of cheese, like PAPPADEAUX, STONEWERKS Now I write lots of reviews on restaurants, and 99% are rave reviews BUT,I spent just spent $35 for poor quality food and LEFT HUNGRY Lastly, Victoria brought me my check, and stood at our table hovering over us to watch me sign the damn thing. That's a FIRST EVER .I gave her a 20% tip but will NEVER GO BACK THERE.I regret I left my phone at home and wasn't able to take photos. Those tiny little oyster shells for $16...
Read moreI got what was on the menu as"Combo A" on the menu under lunch ,which says $14. Since it was 3:30 ,I guess it wouldn't be considered lunch , so I was charged $30. It does not specify a time for lunch, and I didn't see that combo elsewhere on the menu, and that is what I wanted. They should have mentioned when I pointed to that on the menu, that was not the price I would be getting...BIG difference in price. I mentioned this to the manager since he was the one checking me out, all he said was, that was a "lunch special" price which was not clear on the menu. I would have thought he would have at least offered me a discount of some sort, since they are so new still, but he did not. The meal was 1 lb. Of shrimp, heads on, 1 potato that was still semi hard 1 corn cobett, and a piece of sausage Not worth $30 especially for heads on. I was sadly disappointed since I work across the street and was hoping to make this a regular spot for lunch, but since I don't usually get my lunches til 3:30 or 4:00, I...
