I’ve been to this restaurant for a long time and never had any negative experience until yesterday. I thought I would go and support the restaurant during this difficult time, but they have failed me with their poor service. I ordered yellow curry, something I had here before. The first time it came out and the curry looks awe full. The curry sauce is not creamy at all, you can see the coconut milk curdled up in water. I complained to the waitress, and ask her if I can try another dish. She refused to give me another fish and insisted on fixing the curry for me. So I gave them a try. She then brought the food out and just left on my table without saying a word or anything. I looked at the curry (pictured), it was clearly that they did not make me another dish, but only recooked the same dish that I tried earlier. They cooked it a little longer to try to get the sauce creamier and thicker (obviously you can’t make it creamier since the coconut milk is already curdled up). THIS IS WHERE THING GOT MESSED UP, CAUSE THEY ARE NOT SUPPOSED TO RECOOK ANYTHING GOT SENT BACK FROM CUSTOMER’S TABLE, ESPECIALLY IN THIS TIME OF COVID. Anyway, I addressed it again to the waitress and she was going back and forth to my table and her manager. Obviously the manger doesn’t care cause he/she never came out to talk to me, but only through his/her waitress. The waitress asked me what would I want her manager to do. At this point, a restaurant that cares about customers would politely apologize and offer no-charge to the dish that they messed up on. She told me that normally they would still charge for the dish since it’s already made, or offer 50% discount to compensate, but today they will offer me the dish for free (I barely had any of the dish). Would you as a restaurant owner ever tell your customers that, showing how much you don’t care if your customers gonna like you food or not, and still charge them regardless? We left them a note (pictured), still gave the waitress a 18% tip, cause we think it was not her fault that the food was not good, and it was not her fault that the management felt to address the issue. Deeply disappointed. I highly doubt that they would read and care about this, but here are some thoughts on your next visit.

I’m extremely disappointed with my recent experience at Dhalia. I've been coming here for years and usually enjoyed my meals, but this last visit was unacceptable. While eating, I discovered multiple bugs in my food. I immediately notified the staff, who did remake me and my partners plate. Shockingly, the new plates also contained bugs. This completely ruined our appetite and made the meal inedible. Despite the clear issue and the fact that we couldn’t eat our food, I was still asked to pay at the front counter before leaving, and to add salt in the wound, they asked if there were bugs flying around my table that might have flown onto my plate. I know that was not the case, because once we saw one in our rice, we looked throughout all of the rice, and found multiple gnats cooked into it. I find it unacceptable to be charged for a meal that was not only unappetizing but also unsafe to eat, along with the restaurant staff assuming I put bugs in my own food. Hilarious. I hope this review serves as a warning to others and encourages the restaurant to address their food safety and quality control. Do better.

Passing through San Antonio with a Thai craving but the time frame, we were going through limited open restaurant options. I'm really happy that this place was one of the few that was open on non-peak times, and the food we ordered was delicious! We were seated right away, met with a server and drinks brought out promptly. The Thai egg rolls were made fresh and the sauce complimented it perfectly, IMO. I ordered the #16, Mongolian Beef, and my husband ordered the #40, Tao Paht w/chicken. Delicious, thank you! We have made it back to dine again recently and are still happy. My husband ordered the same #40 Tao Paht w/chicken and I ordered the Tom Yum soup, with a #40 w/shrimp to go for me later. I just have to keep my oldest from stealing it like last time, she was so happy 🤦‍♀️. Tom Yum soup is good but if you haven't tried it before, FYI it has a very high basil flavor. It has mushrooms and shrimp but you wouldn't be able to smell them in the soup until you get the pleasant flavors mixed together 😋

I placed an order for delivery. And then later was told that even though I order from the lunch menu during lunch hours I would not get the lunch special because of lack of packaging. A little bit annoying that's something I could live with what was frustrating with was how rude the female on the phone was when I called to inquire. Later when my order arrived I noticed I was missing another item not sure why. I called and asked for a credit for what I did not receive and was told I needed to call another company since I place my order online. At this point I wasn't willing to chase down a credit for what I didn't receive and then also I asked for my tip back because of the customer service experience and it took 1 hour and 45 minutes to receive my order. And yes i did use choice words on this call but never called anyone out by any rude name. Clearly an issue with experience. I told this female that I was not going to chase down a credit and was something that she needed to figure out a way to adjust my billing and that I wasn't going to reach out to another company since it was this restaurant that I was doing business with. So begrudgingly this individual did so and then call me back and let me know that there would be a credit. However I'm now being refused service from somebody that still refuses to give their name it's the same person I talk to a week ago or so when I place the delivery order and has a bad experience with. Same person. She states that she's management but can't give her name. If you are someone of authority I'm not sure why there would be an issue with providing the name so that somebody can just know who they were speaking with and now when I call back trying to ask to speak with somebody in management she keeps hanging up the phone on me. This supposed person of management acts like she is a different person than who provided that horrible serice over initially. Horrible service and honestly not sure how their current...

This restaurant doesn’t deserve even one star. I would give -100 stars for their rudeness and customer service. We were 3 adults and 2 kids(both below 8 years). We ordered 4 adult entrées and a appetizer. When we were seated they didn’t mention that they charge 18% service charge for 5 person and above and count kids in that. They do not have it in written anywhere that they have a service charge of 18%, not in their menu or anywhere in the restaurant. When we inquired about it, the cashier just plainly told us that it is the Texas law. We looked up the regulation (it’s IRS regulation for service charge). It says normally 6 or more people. The Texas service charge regulation specifically stated that the restaurant has to “explicitly” inform the diners about the service charge beforehand, and it’s generally for party of 8 or more. We were never informed about 18% service charge for party of 5 until the bill tab arrived at our table after we finished eating. This service charge was not written anywhere in the restaurant or in the menu. When we told the cashier that we were never informed about this service charge for 5 persons and politely asked to show where it’s written, the server lady named Su became aggressive and said get out of my restaurant, and even used curse words. She was rude, loud and disrespectful. Her demeanor was that she is the owner of the restaurant. I have never seen such worse customer service. I would never recommend this restaurant to anyone. They are rude people with zero...
