Fred's Fish Fry — Restaurant in San Antonio

Fred's. That's all you have to say if you want some fish. But this review is not about fish. It's about...the fried...shiikon (Chicken). For being a mainly fish place the chicken is surprisingly amazing. It's freshly battered but it's not coat with too much batter like other places (cough bill Miller's cough) it's lightly battered but still full of flavor. Price is amazing as well. 3 piece with fries and 2 slices of bread for about 3 bucks. They have 2 piece as well for the ones who don't eat too much. The pieces are pretty big for the price and will give you a mix of dark meat and white meat. They fry it fresh for you not like some other places who have it ready and stuff ( cough church's cough cough cough). It's amazing and I order it every time. Now I've only seen it being served it this location. I've been to the location in the Southside and they don't offer the fried chicken. So don't aassume it's everywhere. The fish is good too. Fred’s fish is a great place with good food. We ordered the seafood platter 3 fish and 3 shrimp combo it was delicious, then a 3 peice fish and fries box. We also ordered some onion rings they were good very greasy but good freshly made. And a chicken sandwich. Everything was made to order. The fries are delicious . My daughter said they are the best fries she has ever had. The fish combo is 3 pieces of fried fish, some fries a lemon and 2 slices of bread. It comes with tarter packets and ketchup. The shrimp was a little over cooked and it came with 3 shrimp and 3 fish. I got the platter it was delicious as well. My daughter liked the chicken sandwich and for the price it was 1.25 or something like that it was good. You can’t go wrong with Fred’s fish. Now let me just say it is with great regret I write this review . I'm reading done of these 5 star reviews and in my opinion they were either paid or extended family . I know this freds fish fry is nothing but a shell of its old self . It used to be good back in the day and it's been bout 6 months since I hit the one on nogalitos up also trash . So I ordered a seafood platter and the fish was fried in burnt grease and had the flavor to match . Wasn't no amount of tarter sauce saving this basket .over cooked over priced and fry pieces an inch long and let me say no good has come from anything an inch long lol . People accept it it's over I give it one more year until the reign is over . Fred getvit together man this is saddening...
