Fred's Fish Fry — Restaurant in San Antonio

they open too late. certain food items and combos are overpriced. this place feels cold and empty and the staff don't seem too happy to be there. the food is good but not great and the food is never fresh and frozen. the employees also don't wear gloves to protect from food contamination. I also don't appreciate having to wait too long for my food. it would be nice to see them have a system that can deliver food faster. I really really like this place a lot it's a hole-in-the-wall it's in the hood this one location anyway my homeboy and I get took me there we were going to do barbecue but they were closed and so we decide to do fish Everything it was worth the wait I'll tell you everything was piping-hot I'm not getting any it was hot in there to begin with this poor woman all she has is a giant fan and no AC and it was boiling in there with the fan oh but this woman she knew her stuff and it was worth the way I mean I couldn't even eat the flies for like 5 minutes cuz it was so hot but that's perfect though and the fish right on point the onion rings were amazing it was the right level of unhealthy Grease however it wouldn't be the same without a certain amount of real you know oil that flavors I know we have all this healthy stuff but when you go to a place like that or get healthy people that go in there and try to order a Caesar salad and Amanda is just ridiculous know you're going there for the grease and the deep fry and the amazing freaking...

I live in Balcones Heights and I used to go to the Fred's Fish on Bandera Rd. I quit going there because they were very stingy with their condiments like lemon,ketchup, and mayonnaise so I. So I quit going there and change over to the one on Culebra close to St.Mary University, So got on the phone to call my order the Seafood Platter #1,when I enter the store one lady said(outloud quote)That is my customer from the place I used to work(the Fred's on Bamdera Rd.) So she asked me what was doing there knowing it's a far distance from the one on Bandera so I told her the truth, I told her that I quit going there because of the service was to stingy with their service, so when I got home I realize that it was not her being stingy, because when I got home she served me with good service and all condiments required.
