Golden Chick — Restaurant in San Antonio

We don’t eat out often unless it is a must. I saw the app uploaded a delivery option and I was excited to use it. Only for it to be misleading. One moment my order was being prepared and the next - it was delivered- only not to be delivered. I checked with the neighbors and nothing. I call the store to get details if my order was still there? Picked up? Needless to say, the person on the other end had zero customer experience. The answering Employee went completely defensive. It was clear they didn’t know how the app of their establishment works (they need to educate themselves). However, apparently asking inquiring questions about my order- was being considered “rude”. Not to mention that after waiting for the employee to speak and my turn to talk, I was met with interruption of the Employee at every moment I spoke. I was unable to get more than two words out at a time. The employee eventually stated I was being rude and she no longer wanted to speak and disconnected the call.

This experience was by far the worst. However, I have learned a lot, and I am taking this post to teach all of those who want to use the delivery service option on the app. After completing a delivery order, make sure your email address is correct- An email will be sent to you upon completion and will have a separate tracking link. Please note that the app For golden chick will no longer keep actual tracking of the order - Only the tracking until it is picked up from your delivery person . The separate link sent to your email does keep actual tracking- And is hosted by DoorDash. (Which is not listed on the golden chick app). (The rep kept telling me to call the third party. I kept asking who that was. They said, I don’t know but you will have to call the third party. Then made their disclaimer message I was being rude.)

My family and I dined in for the first time yesterday and we didn't have a very good experience. The staff was very rude and unprofessional. I waited at the counter for 5 minutes before being helped. Meanwhile employees looked and me and turned back around. I didn't even get a "I'll be with you in a moment."

On the bright side, the chicken was some of the best tasting chicken I've had. The rolls and mashed potatoes were great too but the macaroni and cheese was very bland so I wish I had chosen a different side.

I saw a small roach crawling up and down the wall close to where we were eating. Very gross because where there is one there's more. I didn't bother telling management because I was on a schedule to make it back to work on time and didn't feel like standing at the counter being ignored another 5 minutes.

When we finished our food I took my baby to get a complimentary cone (which was very nice) only the machine wasn't working. Again I went to the counter and was there a good 2 minutes without being acknowledged. I told an employee about the machine and he turned around and told another employee to go fix it. He didn't turn back to me and say "we'll take care of it," or anything of that sort. Nonetheless, it was fixed after a few minutes and my baby was happy with his ice cream.

This was my first visit ever at Golden Chick. I brought my 5 kids along looking to get them some kids meals. The first issue was over the wording Jr. Combo and Kids meals. Very confusing. I ordered the first meal as a Jr. Combo but then saw the kids meals. I asked the difference and made the switch to the kids meals. I ordered the next 4 kids meals and the employee entered it as 4 Jr. Combos. I then ordered my self a 3 piece chicken meal but was told there was a wait chicken (at 6 pm, dinner time). I switched to a tender meal for myself. Once I paid I got my receipt and noticed the Jr. Combos, not kids meals. When the employee went to hand me my order I brought it to her attention. She went and got another employee how informed me it was my fault and asked what I wanted to do about it. I said just throw in the cookies and toys and we will call it good (kids meals would be cheaper). They gave the toys but said they can't give the cookies, but then changed their minds and tossed in the cookies. I pulled up to check the meals and noticed that the one kids meal did not have a cookie in it and they forgot all the drinks. I went back around and had to wait several more minutes for the drinks. We were there in total about 30 minutes. I will not comment on the food as nothing can taste good after...
