Tomatillos Restaurant and Bar — Restaurant in San Antonio

Went here on Valentines day, all our party hadn't arrived yet, but they sat us anyway. As we waited, we ordered an appetizer , it was good. The issue came when everyone showed up and we ordered. Two other couples joined us and ordered. We did as well, everyone got their food except us. My mom was very hungry and ordered another appetizer after we ordered our food. It came and our food still hadn't. The server never came to check on us. We talked about it with the table next to us, they also had poor service. When we complained, the manager rushed our food. We ordered a special they were having, 1lb fajitas, 2 drinks( margarita/beer) sopapillas. As the manager brought our food they said we had only ordered 1/2lb of fajitas and they "hooked us up" with a whole pound. The bell peppers were still raw, as if they were just thrown on top. We really didn't eat the fajitas, had them to go. I was drinking water, the server never offered a refill and took my glass before i was finished eating leaving me without a drink. Then they gave us our ticket, and the total was around $70, but they gave a discount of around $2.50. Then they came back as we complained again, and they gave a bit more of a discount since I pointed out that they never brought out the dessert that came with the special. So in total, I think the server might have come to our table maybe 4 times. The managers were there more. Then she tried to charge gratuity on that poor service. Might have been the experience, but the food was mediocre at best, the DJ was great, Linda is the worst server. If you try going there, make sure you ask for another server. I for one will not...

We have been going here and had fun outside listening to the music, we had not been back in 1 month we went back this past Sun the service was horrible the staff here looked “lost” if that’s a better way of describing them lol no one knew what the prices were on the drinks and that was inside the bar and the outside staff it seemed as they were trying to pocket money for themselves. We would order drinks they would not put it on the bill and tried to charge us cash separately, I said HELL NO you all are not taking advantage of us I asked the waitress how much was the bucket on happy hour (I knew the price I was testing her) she said I think it’s 28.00 or 30.00 😂 I said wrong that is not correct 😂 this is when I knew they were trying to take advantage of us…..then the DJ that is paid by the owner to play until 8 according to their advertisement at 7 he started saying I am going to stop playing but if you want to hear more music here is my tip jar 😂 we always tip the DJ no matter what BUT come on stop trying to take advantage of people..BEWARE this place has staff that will take advantage if your not paying attention to your bill. How can you forget to put drinks on our bill then want us to pay you separately cash no that is not cool at all. We will not be going back here, I just want to make people aware of this happening to you all. I was actually excited to see this location. But not sure if they are the same owners as the previous Broadway location. The service was amazing, the atmosphere to me was fun and lively with music playing in the background. I was dancing in my seat the whole time. Service was awesome and the drinks were on point. The food ruined this review. We had the enchilada plate. HORRIBLE! The refried beans taste like they came out of the can that you buy at heb. The enchiladas were not soft. Literally had to use a knife to cut them. It's as if they just heated up the tortilla and rolled it with cheese inside. And colby jack cheese to go on top?!?!?! The plate did not look appealing at all. Husband had some sort of fish plate. He mentioned Fred's fish fry was better than that. I believe he said it was Tilapia. A friend had some taquitos and the meat was all fat. Don't waste your time eating at this place! If you want a lively atmosphere with drinks, this is a great place. But the food...
