We ate at this location for the first time last night, we were originally calling to order food for pickup however we were told that they didn’t want to take our order because they were waiting for management calls to come through and that it would be best if we came in to order, with that being said we said screw it (except with a 4 letter word) and decided to dine in. Our server was nice however it was very obvious it was his first serving gig. It’s crazy to me that a Mexican restaurant doesn’t have horchata, but to each their own so we decided on Mexican Pepsi however shortly after our server came to inform us that y’all didn’t have Mexican Pepsi even though it is on the menu, we are Texans so we went with Big Red! We told the poor newbie our order and I kid you not this kid had to come back at least 5 or so times with questions about our order. Quite a while after our food came out, plates that should have been hot to the touch came out Luke warm, my brother and I ordered the enchiladas and they were so tiny they looked like frozen burritos on our plates. The only menu item I had besides my big red that had any flavor at all was the damn pinto beans! My wife’s pancakes were doughy and white like they weren’t cooked all the way! I really hope y’all do better for the next family that comes in because we certainly won’t be back! Someone needs to take the new guy and show him the ropes and work with him until glue feels comfortable he was literally the only nice thing about this experience. At one point I feel bad for him because one of the female lead servers or Managers was heading outside for a moment and said it loud and clear “it’s such a big thing I’m trusting you with, don’t burn the place down”.... definitely not appropriate. Take care thanks for reminding me why I should go visit my Tia, so I can enjoy real authentic mexican food with...
Read moreSo I only lived nearby for about 5 years before I decided to finally , jump right in there and give her a try.
Honestly the exterior looked a bit Spartan, not that it was uninviting, but from a distance could easily be mistaken for a burger joint or sub shop. And for me, with Siren's call coming the Autozone, Mexican Camila's on the way home I always passed it over.
That was a mistake. Yes it's Mexican, its just done it its own unique and good way. Of the course action happens inside, i was very pleased to find very clean and well kept. THe large windows where tinted brought to light in and kept hot stuff outside.
I realized not why out was sort of plaint,, they dont have patio , so hot or cold her here it would rarely used.
Very nice, clean, almost upscale feel in this slightly more modern devour. I was greeted immediately by very friendly , all your favorites will be found on the menu, being a man it took less than a minute decide, waiter took my order and brought of sweet, i enjoyed views Thousand Oaks as I waited. 10 minutes food arrived and the enchiladas where excellent, I wasn't able to eat them
I loved it Ill go back for sure!!! The staff was all very kind.
Price was excellent value. right between the higher cost Camillas down the road and above Taco Bell.
I think my enchillada plate was $12 with the tea. Not where you take a first date on, not sure if folks date anymore, but it a great choice for a 3rd date, enjoy nice lunch and walk right on over to the very excellent, one of my favorite guilty pleasure's in San Antonio Thrift Town!!! Thanks Las Palapas! The place is great on its own, tie it in with trip Thrift Town or AutoZone if you are grease monkey, retired airline Captain, and youlot of value the cost of your...
Read moreThey've gone down hill fast. Go to another location. Edited: updated second horrid trip in 2 weeks. DON'T ORDER THE TORTILLA SOUP. (RICE SOUP). Or anything with chorizo It's basically a wet bowl of rice with a piece of chicken on top. ( Last trip)Chorizo to them seems to mean a scoop of grease. Lunch whether it's in eggs or beans. It's little to no meat just some color an a lot of Grease! Its gross now. I would rather pay higher price for both service an quality. You have to ask for tortilla chips too. Honestly I felt like how could this be real. Wasn't even sending it back. I left it on the plate stuck a straw in it. As if to signify you could drink the grease. Paid, an told them it's gross I don't send back food that's obviously an blatantly made with a humorous laugh. Disgusted. The male waiter with the black gloves need to be observant of what he brings out. He brought out both these items on different days. He has no problem offering single females salt pepper etc. But forgets an runs off when it's just guys or a couple. The picture of the soup/rice picture might have been removed by las Palapas. I won't be going back to this location. I honestly think maybe part of it. Is getting a server that can identify or work with kitchen. An not say yes that's how it should be. Because when I asked others even staff they said omg did you want it replaced. Nope but you need to know. An people need to be more observant. I don't ask for free stuff or replaced. Especially when the lack of care is so obvious the first time. Not worth the risk of what else they might do if you complain. I always tip Even when it's bad it's not always the waiters fault. Hope these reviews...
