Hubby and I decided to give this place a try after our night shift. We have been at this establishment before when it was a different restaurant. The inside still looks the same. It will always be a quaint dining area.
Hubby ordered the Huevos Rancheros plate and a carne guisada taco. (His go to breakfast items to try out new places we visit) I had the pork chop plate. Coffee, water, and sweet tea.
The coffee spoon was dirty but it's okay. I used another utensil.
Hubby said the huevos rancheros was okay. The Carne guisada meat was tough and a little bland. He didn't care for the tortillas because they don't taste homemade.
I usually like sunny side up eggs but some places don't like to make them that way. I liked that they put papa a la Mexicana instead of plain potato cubes for the porkchop plate.
The bacon is not crispy but it is the meaty kind, which is great in my humble opinion. The plate comes with two porkchops, which is another awesome rarity. They are good size and have more meat on them. I wish I could have enjoyed them but unfortunately underneath my second porkchop there was a dead fly.
We were going to just pay and leave but my hubby brought it to their attention. I believe it was the owner who came out and honored our plate(removed it from our bill). She was very kind and professional.
I do like that none of the food has salt or a lot of salt because some people can't have it.
With my plate removed our ticket price came out to $22 and change. We ended up tipping the waitress 41%. We felt bad in having...
Read moreLinda's is an absolutely charming, family-run Mexican spot right in the heart of the south side. It's got that perfect hole-in-the-wall vibe that makes you feel at home the moment you step in.
The staff at Linda's are amazing – always smiling and genuinely interested in getting to know you, not just as a customer but as part of the south side community. It's like visiting family every time I go.
The food is fantastic. Everything on the menu is a hit. The tacos are incredible – perfectly cooked meat, fresh toppings, and handmade tortillas that make all the difference. The enchiladas are also a must-try, smothered in delicious sauce and generously stuffed.
A standout for me is there breakfast, don't miss the French toast served with a small bowl of strawberries – such a cute and delicious touch!
Every time I leave Linda's, I feel like I just left my grandma's house – totally full and happy, with some extra cash still in my pocket. The portions are generous, and the prices are very reasonable, so you definitely get great value.
I've become addicted to coming back to Linda's. It might be small, but it's got big flavors and an even bigger heart. It's the perfect spot to hit up with friends or family when you're craving some legit Mexican food in a welcoming setting. Highly...
Read moreEdit: (04/04/2025) We came back today and we were very disappointed. It took very long to get our menudo. When it finally arrived it looked like it was not fresh. It seemed like it was FROZEN then REHEATED on microwave, the bowls were splashed like when you reheat the food in it. I didn't finish it, not even 1/2 of it. My husband's menudo was cold. It's a nice place and we were excited to come back but honestly they should've said they didn't have menudo or that it was frozen.
First time here, and we were welcomed in. Breakfast tacos are huge and delicious. My husband asked a question about the menudo, and they gave him a sample to try. We are definitely coming back. Food looks great and...
