Disappointed. I had an ad for Panda Brothers and decided to give them a call. They already had my information down and I was a bit confused about that, so I just assumed that maybe I had ordered from this place a long time ago and just forgot about it. Tried making a delivery over the phone only to get put on hold and then a dropped connection (at the time, I didn't know that this female employee just flat out hung up on me). Called back again only to get a different employee on the phone. When going over delivery information with this new employee, I found out through him that Panda Brothers was originally China Garden. I was told that I was black listed for a cash delivery of $44 and the system carried over from China Garden to Panda Brothers. After that brief explanation, I got a quick hang up...again. At least this employee gave a small reason with a bit of brevity unlike the previous hang up that had nothing at all.
Once I heard the name China Garden, it all came back to me. The first and last time I had ever ordered from that place was back in late 2014 and the delivery man was almost 2hrs late. My wife and I at the time weren't in a rush for the food, but by 1hr30mins in, we actually became pretty damn concerned about why the delivery man didn't show up. Come to find out, he had gotten into a car accident and China Garden sent another employee out to do the delivery. No problems, not anyone's fault and not holding it over them for that.
New driver shows up with the food and I GAVE him the cash + tip and even had a short discussion about the previous driver, hoping he was okay and not dead/hospitalized. He wasn't.
I never ordered from this place again--not because of the incident with the driver...but because the food was genuinely pretty bad. The fried rice was very dry and bland, the sweet & sour tasted like sour playdoh. Both entrees we ordered were really cold. I remember this pretty vividly, because my wife and I laughed quite a bit at the irony of waiting 2hrs for the food....only to find out the driver had a car accident....and then spent $55 (tipped because of situation) on some really REALLY disappointing food we were waiting on.
And then years later, I get a Panda Brothers ad...wanted to eat some take-out chinese..only to be told that I'm blacklisted because I'm guessing nobody reported in the cash that I handed over to the driver? I'm not expecting them to know thats what happened and thats why they blacklisted me, but thats pretty cold of them to just straight up hang up on me without so much of a "this incident happened at this time--do you know whats going on/why you're blacklisted?"
If you're gonna leave me blacklisted, then at least give me...
Read morePer their website and google they are open daily. Today (Sunday) we tried ordering online and couldn't so we thought its a website issue. We tried calling and no answer. We even went to the store location and they were locked. They have a small sign that says in order to give their employees a break they are now closing on Sundays. We literally had to go physically to the store to know this. Meanwhile everything else ESPECIALLY their website has outdated information. This is how you lose a lot of customers. We will be looking for another restaurant as this one strives to not care to update their information for customers. By the way we are all for days off for your employees but update your information so we know what's happening or what to expect. Don't make us drive to your store to see a small sign and realize we aren't worth your time as we could've just called another restaurant to have their food delivered instead. Unless your not making enough sales to be open on Sunday but justifying it by closing on Sundays and claiming your giving your employees a break if so that's bad on your part.
Update August 20, 2022 Checked their online menu and ordered some food for the family to see how the quality will be upon arrival. Id invite you all to look at their menu and compare the Cheese Rangons (set of 2) for $2 vs Cheese Rangoons (set of 6) for $6.50 which to me makes no sense. If you want a set of 6 just add 3 of the 2 packs to equal $6 and save yourself 50 cents. This is just a mini example of the price difference in their own menu that you can legit bypass if you take a little time. Its illogical that this company and many more think they could get more money out of us when we clearly can see the price difference or at least I saw it. Have fun everyone, but be careful not...
Read moreI ordered a family special which is very fair priced and all the food was good except for the shrimp fried rice. There was black burnt flakes in it and the smell of it was like strong burnt popcorn without the butter of course and the taste and aftertaste was the same, like burnt popcorn in your sinuses. I'm sure there was an explanation for the mistake, maybe a pan was messed up or flaking or something. when I called the restaurant the person who answered was very rude and unhelpful. She did not want to hear me out and kept interrupting me and being unreasonable. she was insinuating that I was trying to get free double food so I told her I would drive the rice and the receipt over to them so they could smell, see, and taste it for themselves and exchange it. I didn't ask for my money back. I just wanted the rice remade. But she didn't understand the idea that they were responsible for the quality of the food. She said I was have to take it up with door dash so I don't get free food and my money back even though I just wanted my shrimp fried rice remade. I left my name and number for the manager, who was there at the time to give me a call. She very rudely told me" well the manager is just gonna tell you same thing". SMH.. A good manager who cares about the restaurant's image and quality would have gotten on the phone or immediately called back. It has been three days now. I have never given anywhere a bad review, this is my first ever google review period. I even gave them the benefit of the doubt that the manager might be busy, three days. I feel bad for taking it up with door dash since it's the fault of the restaurant. But as always door dash made it right even though it's the...
