The most amazing seafood restaurant I've experienced anywhere in the world, and that is not an overstatement. My family and I dine here often because we always vote on where we are going to eat when we go into San Antonio, and El Bucanero almost always wins the vote. I may have reviewed this restaurant before, I can't remember, but it's so good it deserves a 5-star review a week.👏😁 The atmosphere is bright, colorful and relaxing. Their service is excellent. Their food... where do I even start? Portions? Okay, they are more than any one person can eat. Selections... They have the biggest menu I've ever seen. Fast, hot, fresh, and everything I've ever eaten here is delectable! It's a little on the pricy side but if you want a wonderful meal this is the place to loosen your wallet. It's worth every cent and more. El Bucanero reminds you of why life is so grand and should always be bountiful. I don't know who owns or manages this restaurant but they have my heartfelt appreciation. Thank you for being amazing!

The atmosphere was sorta cutesie with a nautical type theme. This restaurant starts you off with tostadas served with various sauces. It is an interesting concept, but enjoyable enough. We ordered the oysters on the half shell to begin with, and they were wonderful. They tasted very fresh and had a delightful texture. Finally, the main dish. I had one of the speciality molcajetes. It was easily the best I have ever had. The sauce was absolutely amazing. It was well seasoned and pleasantly spicy. The shrimp was cooked perfectly. The fish was tender and delicious, and finally the octopus. This was easily the most tender octopus I have ever had. There was not a single chewy portion to be found. Overall, I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who enjoys seafood with an authentic Mexican twist and would definitely go back in the future.

I visit El Bucanero Marbach and El Bucanero Embassy. This one is smaller than Embassy. The service is good and the seafood options are fantastic. My husband and I regularly eat at Mexican food restaurants. This visit my husband had mojará a la plancha. They slice the fish open to put it on the grill. I had cheese enchiladas. My husband is picky with his food and this is where he likes mojaras best, especially cuz they make it on the grill. I regularly order enchiladas at Mexican restaurants and let me tell you these are the best enchiladas I’ve had in any Mexican restaurant in San Antonio TX. The enchiladas have the chile sauce and fresh cheese (queso fresco). They are so delicious. The micheladas are on point too. If seafood is something you enjoy El Bucanero is worth a visit.

It's June 19, 2021, I am just now leaving this restaurant. I've been to all of the other El bucaneros and have never experienced horrible service as my family and I did here at the Marbach location. We were sat all the way in the back corner next to the bar. The hostess passed up several empty tables and booths. It was not packed at all as it usually is in the other locations. As we sat there we watched that same hostess sit families of the same size in those empty tables and booths. I tried to overlook the fact that we were the only black family because everything these days are about race so I was hoping this was not. Well I couldn't overlook it anymore as the closest server to us kept looking at us and passing us by then when he started serving the tables of ppl that sat down well after us it was obvious that something was going on. So my sister went to the bar where there were servers standing and told them how long we had been sitting there. Well a server came and was very cool and calmed me down he had great customer service skills. Well after we had our food he told us he had to take his break and another server would be with us. Well 20min later and no one had came to the table. It was very disappointing. We just wanted the check. So I stood up to go talk to the manager and I see her wave someone to come serve us and it was a guy that had passed us by several times and he was the guy that was supposed to be serving us when the other server left. Well I went to explain this to theanager who basically didn't care because she too stood near our table and didn't say anything until she seen me stand up and walk towards herShe did nothing to ease our stress or anything. I left the nice guy a tip now I'll have to call to see if he actually...

Don't go and waste your money here horrible food the food is very old you order a fish fillet deep fried and the fillet is only one piece very skinny and flat they don't even bring you your lemons you have to ask the waitress for lemons they don't bring you your tortillas if they do they come 10 minutes after you've already received your order. Never again will I return . Food is overpriced waitresses black experience. Don't waste your money here people trust me when I tell you you will not be satisfied I spent $,70 here for me and my two kids my daughter just got a quesadilla that had needed it in which she got sick as soon as we walked out of the door my son ordered a wet burrito and I had the deep fried fish fillet that only comes with old rice that has pieces of hard pieces of rice and the beans taste like they came out of a can.. the salad that they serve with it color is not great I can only say literally the only thing that was good about this place was the chili sauces. Instead of giving you chips with your salsa while you wait for your meal they give you a ziplock bag that contains tostadas and the bowl of chili. Just because a lot of people go here and it always looks like it's popular and popping trust me when I tell you you risk getting food poisoning and money wasted. And this place has a frequent car theft problem if you go here trust me when I tell you your car is at risk of getting robbed broken into if you visit this area you will see broken glass on the parking lot floor because of the robberies that occur here dine at...

Great food but there is a problem! Great food at this restaurant but there is a problem with either the management or the kitchen. There were seven of us in our group to enjoy a nice dinner on a Thursday night. Ordered our food all at the same time waited a little longer than expected. There was I'm guessing a larger group of people at this restaurant on a Thursday night. Again everything good till our food got served only five plates two people in our party waited over 5 minutes for their plate nothing yet. We finally flag down waitress to find out what the problem was. She informed us the kitchen was running behind. We waited three to five minutes more still nothing. We finally flag down management that night mr. Manuel Martinez and due to the fact his English was horrible we really could not understand what the problem was. And everyone in our group is Hispanic we asked in English but he looked at us like he could not understand English so we spoke to him in Spanish and yet he could not give us an answer why their plates were running way behind the others. Finally the plates were brought out, but unfortunately for our friends we had to sit and watch them eat because our food was already consumed. Everything would have been okay with all of us if management mr. Martinez would have came by and apologize even though he was standing there watching us he never approached us again, Not even on our departure. Bad, bad manager experience at this restaurant. Other than that food is great will be back hopefully won't have this...
