I was excited to try this place out. Cute spot and lively. My husband ordered 3 barbacoa tacos, 1 carnitas taco, 2 small pico de gallo, and we were given a small sample of beans. The barbacoa tasted good but it was the all meat barbacoa and not the regular that we had order. In fact it was a bit dry and not greasy at all. The carnitas were not the best; the meat was very mushy and shredded, and had an odd flavor. Still, the tacos were edible. The reason I am rating the food and service a 1 star is because the beans were ICE COLD. The salsas, the pico, and the beans were covered in lard. The inside of my bag was full of lard. The only thing that did not have lard stuck to it was my tacos. I called the restaurant and spoke to a female who said she was the owners daughter. She told me that the barbacoa we ordered is greasy and when they get cold the grease hardens. I tried to explain that she is mistaken. If that were the case my tacos would have also been covered in lard but they weren't and they weren't cold. I didn't want to return my food, I didn't want a refund. I just wanted to explain that this type of service is unacceptable. I will not be returning because this does not look sanitary and management is full of excuses. Let's pray we don't get food poisoning. šŸ¤ž

I've gone to Papis for a few years and they never disappoint with their barbacoa. I will drive from out of town just to buy some. This last visit my daughter had surgery so I decided to treat the nurses caring for her with some barbacoa and tamales from Papis. They loved it! Mathew was the one who took my order this time and got it together. He was very nice and helpful.

Barbacoca is good, not too greasy, but does need a little salt added. I had a flower tortilla, which is really good. Corn tortilla is thick and a little dry. Both are homemade..you can get a lb, 1 liter of soda and tortillas for 20 bucks, ask for the family deal. It's cheaper that way. It doesn't come with onions or cilantro.

Needed a new barbacoa spot. I wish I would've found this one first when we first moved to the area. Barbacoa is great. I prefer my tamales greasy but the tamales here were a great balance of pork and masa and good flavor, my husband enjoyed them (he doesn't like grease at all). The menudo is good, not great, but still worth it if you're in the mood for some. The tortillas, charro beans, and salsa were all a hit for us! The service at the cashier was like talking to a friend even though I never met her. My only negative was the 2L was not cold. Not sure if the fridge is broken, I didn't comment on it before leaving with all my things at a great price....

The only place I’ll ever get my barbacoa from. Let me tell you I was introduced to this place 4 years ago and I’ve never gone anywhere else since. It’s so good! Pricy but again you pay for what you get. I love the staff. They are so nice and humbled. I always always always get the best customer service. They really go above and beyond to treat customers with kindness. The food is my go to on the weekends. The specials are great! I love everything about Papi’s. Thank you to the family owned business for being nice to the community. I always look forward to calling ahead so they have my order ready for pick up. It’s so convenient....
